Serviced the ZTR today and it proves that the Zip tie problem is at the factory level

All my black zipties were uncut but they were the ones with the little tab to unlock them so i would guess they didn't cut them for reuse purposes.

There is nothing wrong with using plastic ties to secure a wire harness. I spent 12 hours just yesterday changing a compressor because someone failed to secure wires. Wires rubbed on top of compressor, shorted, and blew a hole in the top of compressor. Changed compressor and wire harness and secured with zip ties. And they will hold that harness just fine until the unit is scrapped or has another problem. I have seen more damage done to wires with overly secure mounts vs. Zip ties.

I use them all the time. The reusable type I leave complete but the ones that are permanent should be cut to the lock to prevent injury. That's all we're saying.
