John Deere’s Drive Green Challenge Events

Drive Green Challenge will hit full force in July 2011

LENEXA, Kansas (March 28, 2011) – For the third consecutive year, John Deere is hosting Drive Green events at dealerships across the country for consumers to see and test drive the latest utility tractors and other equipment available from John Deere. Scheduled through July, this year’s Drive Green Challenge events will be held at more than 60 locations across the South, East Coast and Midwest and will feature a customized “Tail Gator” XUV.

The dealer-sponsored Drive Green Challenge events are designed to give rural property owners, agricultural producers, commercial lawn and landscape operators and interested consumers a chance to test drive John Deere and competitive tractors. They also provide an opportunity to compare features of different equipment and ask questions about the latest models of utility tractors and other equipment available from John Deere.

A custom detailed semi-tractor and trailer will transport several utility tractors and other equipment to each of the major Drive Green Challenge truck events across the country. In addition, a special “Tail Gator” XUV has been outfitted with a sound system and other components and will be on display at all Challenge truck events. A version of this special Gator will be given to a selected Drive Green Challenge attendee picked at random later this summer.

According to Steve Geick, tactical marketing manager with John Deere, last year’s Drive Green events gave thousands of people a chance to visit their dealers, check out the new equipment and drive it for themselves.

“We’ve designed the Challenge events to give people a one-stop opportunity to check out different models of tractors, as well as a wide variety of other John Deere equipment they can use to maintain their properties and for their businesses,” he says. “At the same time, we want to make the events fun and informative experiences for everyone.”

In conjunction with the scheduled Drive Green Challenge truck events, many John Deere dealers are hosting similar Drive Green activities at their local dealerships. At all the events, John Deere tractor specialists will be on hand to demonstrate the equipment and answer questions, and all attendees can register to win a customized “Tail Gator” XUV.
