I need to replace the V belts on my Ford new Holland 918 H flail mower. The specs call for a 5/8 x 48.8 cm belt. That’s obviously a hard belt to find. Am I better off going with the 48 inch or 49?

No, can verify that Jack bolt holes are definitely threaded🤗

They are definitely 100% a different size. Check the picture at the beginning of the thread. You can see that those holes are about half the size of the bolt on holes. At this point I’m thinking the odds are pretty high they are 12-24 just need to find a source that carries that size in class eight.

Any suggestions on a source that KNOWS what matched belts are. Might as well order them now to have on hand💁

Ugh. 🙈 can’t find bolts to fit in those screw holes. They are really an odd size. 10-24 is too small and 1/4 - 20 is too big. In metric 5 mm is too small and six is too big.

It’s a Ford 918 H. I put new belts on with that 3/16 misalignment. And I got a temperature reading up about 200° on the sheave after running the mower for about 15 minutes. The belts were 48 inch long whereas the OEM is 48.8. not sure if that would make a huge difference but that’s what happened.

So I’ve got it all together but when I put a straight edge on these two pulleys there’s a slight gap on the top pulley. What would be the way to straighten this out if it’s even necessary. I’ve messed around with the jam bolts but it doesn’t seem to do much.
