Yes, I will use the 1705 in the winter if we get heavy snows. But it is always in a heated garage when not in use. Temps get below 0 and sometimes windchill is -20 below.

Well moved the seat back by the other set of holes and it still was a bit cramped, so I took it apart and used my cut off wheel to cut the stop off to make it go back farther. Now it goes back as far as it can go with good leg room.

Here's another question do you use chains and lever binders or heavy ratchet straps to hold down your tractor on the trailer? Also do you use 2 in the front and rear or just 2?

Well AG tires came with the tractor the last 2-3 yrs not much snow but I'm always prepared. I plow my drive which is fairly large and not much slant and my 2 neighbors also and there about the same as mine. We get all kinds of snow here in central Illinois and of course lots of wind and drifts.

Well I am I really thought that I would have lots of room but after thinking about it I was wondering? I can make it work I can always roll the bucket up and that will give me a little more room. I just have to watch sharp turns.

Well around here in the farming community it is hard to get a bargain!!!

It is a device that will bring the bucket back to ground level so it won't dig or turn up to keep everything level when you are digging dirt, snow etc.

They will not budge on price sad to say I cannot pay for a tractor 10 yrs. old at this price. When I can get a 2017 M-F GC 1705 with less hrs. for $12000 and free delivery plus they will install a bucket leveler for free on the tractor for $12000

Well I really don't want to take it apart but I removed the seat, and the seat springs or whatever you call them. That left the 2 slides with WD-40 and a screwdriver and a small brass hammer I started tapping the the slides back and forth. Lots of dirt, rust and grass and black paint eventually...

Ok just bought a 1999 445 and when I can't get the seat back far enough for my long legs. It doesn't go back very far it stops. Is there a way to bypass this by relocating the seat?

Yes he had all the paper work and they replaced the cam when they replaced the water pump.

I would certainly post the pics but I really don't know how??? All I know is by the pics that he sent it looks like the brackets on the deck are outside of the mower itself instead of underneath the body of the mower like mine is on the 425. If you have an e-mail address I could send them to you?

Hello everyone, my question is, is there an adj on the forward or reverse pedals on the 425? Forward is fine but reverse is slow and sometimes not at all. Now if I push the reverse pedal down farther under the floor pan a bit it runs fine. Hope you can help me? Thanks weeder

Hello everyone, was wondering what the correct way is to check the transaxle oil level in a 1997 425? I've heard to screw the dipstick all the way down and I've heard to just let it sit on top of the threads? So thought somebody could clarify this for me? Thks weeder

Yes, I have, I cleaned all around it took the rubber vent top off and checked it out all's well there.

Well, no leaks so far, I will drain out the fluid and change out the filter and replace it with the Hy Gard oil. If the seal comes out again, I will replace it.

Ok I have ran the tractor with the tires off and jacked up. My question is I didn't want to go buy that expensive John deere oil for my transaxle so I put 5w-30 synthetic in it for my test. Do yoy think that will hurt it??

I would love to take a pic but I can't get my ph camera down in that position to do so, sorry. I'm going to run the tractor for a bit and see if it stays in place. If it doesn't I will have to pull the transaxle completely out to correctly replace the seal.

Well took your advice and blew all the crap out of there that I could reach with air. Lo and behold I looked down on the shaft for the parking brake and there was a seal that had popped out of the case. I took a very long and skinny pry bar and did my best to push it back in. I will rig up my...
