So in the winter, it will be $3.86 X 1.2 = $4.63 to go 100 miles.
So let's go ahead & do the math on gas... Assuming you have a very efficient car and you're getting 40MPG, you'll use 2.5 gallons of gas. At the current cost of $3.43/gallon, that's a cost of $8.57.
I can respect this. You're being clear that you're making the decision based on an opinion.
I'm just commenting on this thread when people post stuff that is factually incorrect or they don't bother doing the math. Math doesn't care about our feelings.
But I get it, there's more to life than getting the math right. I heat my house with wood because I enjoy it. If I ever try to claim it's cost effective, I hope somebody calls me out for pretending the facts support me when I'm really just doing what makes me feel good, but I'll still do it.
