changing gears on john deere 1040

1981 2WD 1040 with a JD145 Loader
Model Year: 1981
Sweetest little tractor I've ever owned. Widened the back tires, handles a bale of haylage no problem. Use it for haying, skidding firewood with Igland winch, plowing. As long as you maintain it, it'll maintain you!
Pros: Very easy to operate tractor, plenty of power, very good weight to it.
Cons: If it was MFWD it would be even more perfect.
