L3540 Kubota
Kubota L3540 Review
Model Year: 2011

I use the tractor for mowing mostly and move some dirt on occasion. It performs great, but if I had to do it over again, I probably would have purchased the L3940 as it would have been a little more powerful. The tractor is light as you will have to use 4 wheel drive to move dirt as it will spin out too much. I had the rear tires filled with windshield washer fluid for weight, but I still have to use the 4 wheel drive too much as far as I am concerned. My drive is the glide shift transmission which I really like over the hydro as I don't have to keep my foot on the hydro pedal all the time. I have a loader and leave it on all of the time as you will be surprised how much it comes in handy for. I change the fluids myself and keep it in good shape. I also bought a 6 foot tiller for it and the tractor does a good job with it. I am very pleased with my Kubota.

Pros: Dependable, smooth, handling is good.
Cons: Can't remove the screen for cleaning in front of the radiator with the loader on.

L3540 Kubota
Great Tractor
Model Year: 2012

Tractor has a cab heat and ac, 60" front mount snow blower and loader. In upstate NY with well over 100" of snow a year this works great. The price is high but I love this tractor.

Pros: Easy to operate, good on fuel, great power, loaded with options.
Cons: Price is high.

L3540 Kubota
Purrs Like a Kitten but Amazing for Landscaping and Driveway Maintenance
Model Year: 2013

Added box plow for landscaping work, and can't believe the difference over a draw blade.

Pros: Easy starting and runs well in Canadian climate.
Cons: Kubota needs to understand the size of a typical North American male.

L3540 Kubota
Kubota L3540
Model Year: 2012

Great tractor and what an upgrade from my previous JD 850 and Kubota L3200. Like the Kubota dealer told me, but I didn't fully understand until I upgraded "it's a whole different tractor." Capability, transmission, and big turf tires make this an excellent all-around machine where much of my work includes buzzing across part of the yard. Yet I've had plenty of traction despite turf tires herein the Northwoods where we have more sandy soil than mud and clay when off the beaten path or in snow.

Pros: Great transmission and improved capability over the L3200.
Cons: None.

Kubota L3540

Very pleased with tractor and loader performance, durability, quality. No real issues to speak of. I would recommend looking at Kubota. If I were to trade today, I would look at Massey because the service dept. at the Massey dealer is more trained on hydraulic & electrical troubleshooting, but as far as tractor and attachment quality go I have run both with excellent results.

Pros: Quality built from top to bottom.
Cons: I cannot really think of any even after 5 years of use.

L3540 Kubota
Very Capable Machine
Model Year: 2005

L3540HST, BH90, QA 714FEL, QA 4-in-1 bucket, 6' rotary mower, 6' box blade, chipper. Bought this and my 5 acre property at about the same time. It has done an amazing amount of work, from excavating to log skidding to landscaping and snow clearing, and now I use it regularly with my portable sawmill business. Maintenance is easy to do myself, and other than sometimes wishing the hydraulics were just a bit stronger, I've had no complaints about its performance. I don't know how I could possibly maintain my property without it.

Pros: 4wd very good, good ground clearance, easy control operation.
Cons: Hydraulics somewhat weak.

L3540 Kubota
Great Little Tractor
Model Year: 2012

Fun tractor to use. Actually bought a L3800 first but took it back and got the grand. The features added to the grand are essential to get the most out of the tractor.

Pros: Quiet, stable, good loader and three point.
Cons: Plastic front grill is easily damaged.

L3540 Kubota
Mechanical Masterpiece
Model Year: 2011

This is the most sublime piece of machinery I have purchased in the whole course of my life. Every time I hop up into the seat, I just grin. I write the check for the monthly payment with the same grin. When I first bought it, I lined up my five sons and made a little speech, the substance of which was "I love you more than the tractor." I had to do that, because when they inevitably run it into a tree, or put gas instead of diesel in the fuel tank, I have to remind myself of what is really important in life. Because this tractor can sure turn one's head around. I replace an old 19hp John Deere CUT, which, bless its heart, could never quite accomplish what I asked of it. This thing ALWAYS performs flawlessly, with power to spare. I purchased two Kubota and three matching orange Land Pride implements with it (yeah, the orange paint is a luxury, but I am almost 50 years old and this is the last tractor I will own): 72" finish mower, 60" brush mower, 66" tiller, the 514 loader, and the 72" front mount snowblower. Kubota does not recommend the 72" front snowblower for this HP level, which is hogwash. My dealer put up a bit of a fuss about it, but he gave in and the blower works great in NW Wisconsin. Why anyone would spec a snowblower that does not clear the width of the rear tires, I will never understand. Great thanks to everyone on this site who helped me with that issue. I was one of those guys wondering whether the Cadillac was worth the money. I tried and priced ALL the competitors. I had spreadsheets and pro/con lists and lots of miles driving to dealers. Spent months making this decision. And I made the right decision.

Pros: Fancy HST, swiveling seat, power, telescoping 3pt, heck, EVERYTHING!
Cons: That I waited so many years before buying the right tractor.

Kubota L3540

The tractor has done every task I've handed to it with ease. I have the quick attach LA724 front end loader and Bradco Forks. During the winter I use a 6' back blade for snow removal. No problems, starts first time every time. I guess the only problems I see Kubota should work on would be paint. Their orange is susceptible to sun fade which is occurring on my rear wheels.

Pros: Everything: strong, efficient, and durable.
Cons: Paint tends to fade from sun and of course they are a bit expensive.

L3540 Kubota
Kubota Tractor
Model Year: 2000

We bought this tractor new to mow pasture of about 30 acres. It has a belly mower that has never fit it right. It has dragged and bumped and rubbed metal on metal. This tractor had to have a new transmission 2 years ago (July 2010) and now has the mid PTO broken, which I feel sure is because the mowing deck has never aligned correctly. The motor has been good though and the features are great. Very easy to use. I would buy this tractor again, but would NOT put a belly mower on it, or would get a better dealer that put the correct belly mower on it. The ignition is starting to wear out now and the glow light glows most of the time, I have to hit the kill switch to get it to shut off.

Pros: Ease of use.
Cons: Transmission replaced at 8 yrs old.

Kubota L3540 HST
Model Year: 2008

New to me L3540 HST and my first tractor. I bought it with about 247 hours on it. Changed all the fluids after getting it home, but have only used it to push snow with the bucket and haul in some firewood. So far very easy to use, the auto throttle advance makes it drive just like a car.

Pros: ATA, HST.
Cons: None.

L3540 Kubota
Quality in a Small Package
Model Year: 2010

L3540 HST with cab and loader. Very good quality. I didn't need all the bells and whistles but the machine is put together very well. The loader operates smoothly. I have several pieces of construction equipment and a John Deere 5603, I find the little Kubota a pleasure to use. Glad I got the cab, it was a struggle to spend the extra cash, but it is so nice not to have to breath the dirt and dust while mowing. I would come home when it was 100 degrees outside and go mow... I don't think I would be doing that without a cab. I have had it about 18 months with no problems.

Pros: Quality.
Cons: None.

L3540 Kubota
Kubota Grand L3540 is really grand
Model Year: 2007

Kubota L3540 HST plus, w/ BH90,LA723 FEL, M-PTO, draft control, rear remote, QA bucket, R4's. Have had the tractor now for 2 1/2 years using it for trenching, plowing, 3pt snow blowing, grading, raking, tilling, fertilizing/seeding, 3pt pallet fork moving of wood pelts and bio bricks, PH digging, moving round bails and misc loader work. I have yet to have any issues or problems. Built like a tank yet rides like a Cadillac and operates like a dream. The HST plus is a joy. Previously owned a L2800 for 3 years prior and a BX22 for 4 years prior to that. Bought this tractor from White's Farm Supply in Central New York state because everyone else around me was literally from 5,000 to 10,000 more in difference on my trade. I try to keep business local, but not if they are asking you to bend over.

Pros: Ease of operaion, ride and bulid
Cons: Let you know when I find one

L3540 Kubota
Kubota Grand L3540 is really grand
Model Year: 2007

Have had the tractor for 2 1/2 years now and love it. Rides, works and handles great. I do a variety of things with it. Grading, excavating, raking, snow blowing, tilling, seeding, fertilizing, plowing, loader work, PH digging, trenching (narrow bh bucket), 3pt pallet fork moving for 1 ton loads of wood pellets and bio bricks. Overall I have not had any issues or qualms. I replaced a L2800 which was great but got such a great deal on this tractor on trade from White's Farm Supply in New York I couldn't pass it up. I owned a BX22 before that. I am partial to orange but do not have any aversion to any of the other manufacturers.

Pros: Strong, well built, comfortable, reliable
Cons: have not found one yet

L3540 Kubota
First Kobota
Model Year: 2010

This is my first Orange tractor, had NH TC25 for 10 years but wanted something bigger. Kubota had the most features for the money. 3 stars for reliability cause I only have 47 hours on it currently. The only dislike was the Auto Throttle Advance. It made the tractor RPM's to high for mt liking, but found a post here [make the auto cable longer]to adjust it down much better. Especially for break-in.

Pros: Loader, Comfort, and Power
Cons: Auto Throttle Advance
