Front Axle And Wheel Bearing Issues

CT450 Bobcat
Bobcat 450 with Cab
Model Year: 2012

So far it has been a great tractor I have 140 hours and have had no problems. Use mainly for mowing in our pecan grove I have moved a lot of dirt in the front loader, it is a little light in the rear end have had to use ballast on three point.

Pros: Reliable, comfortable, capable or everything I have used it for.
Cons: Light in the rear end.

CT 450 Has Done Well for Almost a Year
Model Year: 2012

With the warranty period ending soon, the electrical problems that have suddenly appeared, will in theory be rectified. Too many electronics, electric over hydraulics. Wondering if back to the basics, less complicated system of tractor control is better. Considered several other tractors in same hp class (50 hp).

Pros: Power, function, utility, ease of implement change.
Cons: Stiff clutch, stiff shuttle stick, position of throttle, instruments not well sealed. seat could be more adjustable.

CT450 Bobcat
A Hidden Kioti Under the White Paint
Model Year: 2012

Bobcat's new Korean owners war with Kubota killed in 2013 their CT certified trouble tractor program. Mine has a backhoe and loader with an grapple aux. hydraulic port. The electrical valve, the entire dashboard go on-and off at their own will anytime for a few seconds or a minute. The 4x4 light dims. The loader welds are poorly painted, the backhoe pins act worn. The black anodized hydraulic cylinders on the backhoe rust and have nicks I would not have with chrome. All way outside of the traditional A+++ Bobcat quality tradition under the previous US owners. No wonder Kubota and others are pushing hard into Bobcat's turf. After our 2010 Toolcat debacle with 9 failed software upgrades it is the second misfit toy. I should have stayed with yellow-green. Sniff, tears. The local dealer tries hard but the new Bobcat ND owners do not recognize it as warranty.

Pros: Great power, sturdy.
Cons: Stiff transmission, poor paint job and ghosts in the electrical system.

CT450 Bobcat
CT450sst Compact Tractor
Model Year: 2010

I am very happy with the Bobcat compact tractor. I bought the shuttle drive model (hard to find) because they say it has three more horsepower at the PTO. It requires a lot of shifting though. I love the machine it has done everything I asked it to. The battery that came with it was not powerful enough. I ended up putting a 1000 cca battery in it, now it starts no matter how cold and runs fine. I use it to brush hog grade roads and trails disk wildlife plots and move dirt. It came with front end loader. As I said it works great; I like it a lot.

Pros: Easy to use, reliable, easy to service built tough.
Cons: None except it should come with a bigger battery.

It gets used on our horse/cattle farm 20 hours a week on average. Feeding round bails of hay, cleaning manure, plowing snow and raking hay. It does all well, with power to spare.

Pros: Stability, power, fuel economy, and comfort.
Cons: I had three warranty issues, all hydraulic lines.

Tractor Overheats
Model Year: 2009

I think that this tractor was made for the northern states in this Louisiana heat. When I turn on the a.c. with a 6 foot bushhog it wants to overheat after about 5 hrs. I've taken it back to the dealer several times to no avail. Does good as long as the a.c. isn't running have pulled the oil cooler out several times to clean behind it. It gets very hot in the cab without the a.c.

Pros: Good power.
Cons: Tractor overheats.

CT450 Bobcat
Ct450 - Nice
Model Year: 2010

Well I have added about 4 hours to the clock so far. Tested out the 72" rotary cutter (A.K.A brush hog), the bucket loader and a 72 inch root grapple so far. Clearly the grapple's weight and capacity will require more counter weight than the brush hog. But I didn't like having something sticking out 8 feet behind me when I'm focused on the work in front of me anyway. That may be a bit large for the grapple, maybe a 5" would have been a better fit weight wise. The curl is a bit tough with a load. But it covers the front wheel width. This setup sure makes for an efficient machine here on the farm. Work is a breeze and compared to the ford 2000 (which is only a year or so away from it's 50th birthday). Brush hogging is effortless and swapping tools on the front is amazingly easy. Quite happy with it so far, even that comfortable seat beats that steel saddle on a strong spring that I'm used to. More when it gets some more hours...Bobt

Pros: Significant power, good ergonomics.
Cons: I just need some coounter weight.

CT450 Bobcat
CT 450 SST
Model Year: 2010

I love the little tractor. I got the shuttle shift rather than the hydro. Use it with a brush grapple, smooth bucket, auger, brush hog, log skidder and box blade. I have worked it hard clearing brush and putting in roads, it's done everything I've asked of it. Starts right up any time even in cold weather. Maintenance wise it's been pretty good once some teething problems were addressed. Had an electrical glitch that kept blowing fuel shutoff solenoids when new. The dealer put a whole new wire harness in but it was down for almost a month while they got around to it. The deciding factor in going with this tractor was the proximity of a local dealer in the area (Kansas City). I've had the unit just over a year and KC Bobcat has decided not to handle the line anymore which is irritating. The Bobcat compact tractor line has been acquired by a local turf/golf cart business. Just got some parts from them the other day and they seem nice but it's a brand new thing for them and the whole Bobcat dealer strategy doesn't inspire a lot of confidence. Couple that with the fact that Bobcat guards service and parts information like state secrets to keep you in thrall to the Bobcat dealer network and it can be irritating. I'd recommend the tractor as a great little work horse with good value.

Pros: Reliable. Bobtach skidloader type mounting rocks. Tough little unit. Good value, green paint must really be expensive. Well thought out, little touches like the rear operable three point makes dealing with attachments easy.
Cons: Dealer support so so in this area.

CT450 Bobcat
CT450: Good Workhorse That Could Use Minor Improvments
Model Year: 2009

Bought tractor new with loader, used for PTO work, and pull 2 yard scraper, loader work.In the 530 hrs I have replaced seven hyd. lines that crack in the 90 deg bend when using PTO 6-8hrs a day at PTO RPM. Down time was a bummer to find the next line, so made up my own line with hose to get rid of pump pulsations. Am told I am the only one having this problem, my question to Bobcat was this tractor designed for PTO work? If I leave tractor out on a damp or rainy day starter won't engage on key. If it weren't for the hyd. problem I would have no complaints, Hydrostatic drive is great on a snow blower. Small item, but the light and signal switch needs to have handle turned in not out, always hitting sw handles with knee upon entry of tractor. My next tractor will have cab with heat and air.

Pros: Price, hydro drive system, operator station space.
Cons: Hyd. line failures, electrical start problems, poor disign of hyd. levers as they are to low for grown up operators.

CT450 Bobcat
Bobcat CT450
Model Year: 2008

Purchased the 4X4 cab model w/loader. I use it mostly for snow plowing and snow blowing. I had to get the ballast box when using with bucket. Winter setup: 8' plow blade and Loftnis 60" blower. I'm clearing snow at 7500' elevation. The motor has good power. It uses every bit of it to drive the blower off the PTO. Cab comfort and controls are good. Mostly reliable except for recent incident with blown fuse disabling the tractor after stalling it during a hard push. Compared with equivalent John Deere model: JD had better turn radius and turbo diesel engine, Bobcat seemed built more heavy duty. I also got better price with rebates and dealer incentives at the time. So far I'm mostly satisfied (rate 4 of 5 overall). The 50 hour service is pricey (over $400 for all the filters and fluids alone!).

Pros: Price, power, available attachments, cab comfort, good controls, adjustable 3 pt. arms, outside 3-pt control lever.
Cons: Not many, but you shouldn't have to remove the blinker assembly to grease the upper loader arm pivot, valve stem shroud on front wheel, but not on rear wheel?

A Very Happy Bobcat CT450 Owner
Model Year: 2009

Excellent machine in every respect. I use the 9TL loader, box scraper and 3 pnt bushhog every week. I still get a smile on my face every time I hop on the machine.

Pros: High quality work horse. Would put up against a comparable Deer anytime.
Cons: None.

CT450 Bobcat
My First Tractor - I like it a lot.
Model Year: 2009

I got this tractor with the front end loader. When the loader is full of dirt the tractor is a bit unstable and care must be taken. However, once I put a flail mower on the back it became very stable even with a full load of dirt in the loader. Only gripe I have is shifting into mid-gear is a pain. Low and high gears are easy.

Pros: Good price, Small size, and decent horsepower.
Cons: Shifting to mid-gear is tricky.

Bobcat CT450 Hydro
Model Year: 2009

I am pleased with my purchase of this tractor. It has given no trouble so far. I only wish I had got the cab model.

Pros: Some features are standard on the Bobcat that are extra on other brands. Hydro trans.& quick attach bucket!
Cons: Too many safety features.
