3550 Ford
Ford 3550
Model Year: 1973

After searching for some time for a tractor suitable for our recently purchased farm I decided to buy this Ford 3550. I did not need a new tractor as my farming neighbors all have modern tractors and equipment such as hay making and loaders and they are quite willing to do work for me. My main usage for the tractor will be slashing the pastures, the farm was without stock for a season and is quite overgrown. The farm is gentle rolling hills to steep in places. I felt that the 3550 was a stable work platform for the type of country and and work it had to do. The 3550 has a low center of gravity. This was one of the main features that I was looking for in a tractor. I know that the 3550 was made to be a work platform for a backhoe and front end loader however this tractor has never been used for that purpose. The tractor looks to have had a good life, being looked after by the previous owner. I have also found it a little hard to start on cold days, however it has never failed to start. I look forward to using the 3550 in the coming months and will update this review at a later date.

Pros: Low center of gravity, ROPS and good condition.
Cons: 1970s technology; not 4x4.
