Hidden Surprise
Model Year: 2010
For the money, it is a nice well-working machine that cuts level and clean. However, I do all of my own work and discovered a bit of horrible engineering. Whomever designed the placement of the brake elec. switch and the solenoid... Very poor placement showing very little thought. Secondly is the fuel tank, while placed properly on top of the frame, due to a curved upper lip at seat frame it can not be removed. Lastly is a lack of a drain plug on the gear boxes to replace the oil. Because of this missed opportunity, the units will have to be removed, broken open and refilled for any maintenance. Despite the suggestion that home use will not require maintenance, this assumption is wrong! Worn oil causes the units to stop pulling but a simple oil change fixes the issue and would make it easy if there were a drain plug. Would I buy another one? Only if the simple issues I found were corrected.
Pros: Kawasaki engine.
Cons: A few poor engineering choices.
