One Never Forgets One's First!

My first tractor was the Kioti DK45SE HST. We chose it for the following reasons: - Good price compared to other similar makes. - Daedong's industrial history (length and experience in the field of tractors). - Area of use; 40 acres, small haying operation (i.e. square baling), other around the farm activities. - Transmission, (HST), primarily for when the missus drove the tractor. Despite the few cons, it was an outstanding tractor and as we look to "reboot" our operation, I am looking at Kioti as the primary, (but not only), manufacturer for our next tractor..

Pros: Simple to use, work on, very well constructed, great price, very user friendly design, (especially the 3 point hitch area). Did what was expected/required of it with no problem (other than the air screen issue mentioned below).
Cons: At the time, no nearby dealer (now rectified), air screen would constantly block up with dust/hay & would need to be cleaned/blown out periodically to prevent overheating. Though am not sure if this was a Kioti design issue or a problem faced by most tractors being used in similar circumstances (and this is the only reason why I gave the 4 star ratings. If not a DK45SE HST specific issue then I would give a 5 star rating across the board).

I've had this tractor since 2011 and no major issues to date.

Pros: Love it.
Cons: Wish it had arm rest on the seat.

Terrific, However...

I too have a DK45 overall excellent tractor has the important amenities that are superior to others I looked at. However I too have had electrical issues. The paint is coming off in areas un-weathered. The PTO switch is regularly hit while exiting. These I recently noticed have been addressed while getting parts for mine at dealer wow they look terrific. Thinking about trading in. I was considering a used backhoe for mine. Any suggestions? Is it worth the money? Will it perform?

Pros: Good value.
Cons: Electrical issues.

Good When It Starts

I've had numerous electrical issues with my tractor. I almost never know if its going to start when I turn the key. The relay switch seems to keep getting shorted out and then I can't start it.

Pros: The price was right.
Cons: Unreliable starting.

KIOTI On The Rocks!
Model Year: 2010

When we decided to start farming in North Worcester Co. Mass, so we could be near my spouses family, I was not really sure what I was getting into, we bought a 1760 farm with 110 acres that had not been farmed since the 1800's. We are in the process of restoring the agriculture to the land in hopes to make a couple of $$ to add to retirement money. Took us 2 years to find a farm that fit the business plan. We looked at all the tractors available in the area and bought the KIOTI. It has been a great performer as we have a lot of woodbridge/paxton soils here!

Pros: Tough, balanced, good on rocks/boulders, handles many diverse implements, sustainable power in the lower ranges.
Cons: Had an issue with the hydraulic controller @ 95 hours was recplaced under warranty; needs a bigger bucket.

My Orange Tractor (adverstisement)

I was in the market for a tractor and looked at everything and was going to purchase a Kubota. I had the price I was okay with and attachments I wanted and we needed an extra trailer just for the unit. I saw some Orange tractors in San Marcos just north of us and thought I would keep the other Kubota dealer honest. I arrived at the dealership and after I got out of my truck I notice a big difference in these Orange tractors. I wasn't at another Kubota dealer at all, I was at the Kioti dealership. I was already there so I decided to take a look, then a big country boy greeted me and said, "Hi, my name is Brian, welcome to ACM Tractor." We talked a bit and he started his presentation. I was impressed with Brian's knowledge of his product and really liked what I saw. After he told me the story of the company's history and involvement in manufacturing diesel engines, I was at ease with the new name. The ergonomics on the Kioti are much better than the Kubota. Everything is right at you finger tips and ready for use. So I decided to go inside and talk numbers and after a couple of hours and a lot of fun I managed to save a bundle and get a tractor with front end loader, backhoe, grapple, forks, shredder and box blade. After 100 plus hours on this workhorse and can say honestly that I made the right decision. By the way if your are in Texas and even a couple hundred miles from San Marcos it would be worth you while to visit AMC Tractors! Kioti DK 45SE HST Exceeds Expectations
Model Year: 2012

Traded up from a Kioti CK 35 HST, what a difference!! The CK 30 was always short on power, no need to worry about that with the DK 45SE HST, plenty of power in all ranges. The ease of changing implements is fantastic, especially the removal of the front bucket for the use of additional equipment. Will be equipping the DK with a 72" snowblower this winter, and I expect to cut my snow clearing time in half. You can look for around 12 to 14 hours on a tank of fuel. I recommend this tractor to anyone looking for a medium horsepower tractor.

Pros: I like everything about it, especially the opertaion of the 3-point hitch from the rear of the tractor, great for those moments you need to make adjustments when changing implements.
Cons: I haven't found any yet!

Kioti Experience

I had never heard of a Kioti since I had been out of tractor ownership for several years. I was looking at a Kubota and had really settled, but I was wanting to keep the dealer honest and compare prices with another Kubota dealer. I had seen some orange tractors up north from my place and I drove there and when I got there I realized I was at the Kioti dealership. I looked them over outside and liked what I saw and then came the salesman to greet me. He was a big country boy that had a great personality and a knowledge of his product. I am a retired car dealer and I was one of the first 100 dealers to handle KIA in north America and I liked the Korean experience with that so I felt trust in the manufacturer. We went inside and Brian (salesman) put his great pitch on me and after I got through with him I saved a considerable amount of money and I think I got the best tractor. I purchased the backhoe, grapple, brush hog, box blade and forks. I have worked the fire out of this tractor and I simply love it! By the way, Brian works at a small dealership in San Marcos, Texas called ACM. The attention I received and the no pressure selling and service was and is great! I highly recommend this dealership!

'07 DK45SE HST

This tractor is awesome. It never fails to do what I need done. I bought the tractor sight unseen from a used Ag dealer out of state with 650 hrs. Hence the 3 star dealer rating. I wanted to give 5 stars for dealer, they earned it, but I have no Koiti dealer support. I can fix things myself so with this website support no problem. I have put 40 hrs of hard work, maybe abuse, on this tractor moving boulders close to it's own wt and knocking trees down and pulling roots. It will do it.

Pros: Very impressed with design and how well built it is. I have just completed a complete filter and fluid change. Very strong magnets at drain plugs and filters. Filters where you can get at them and drain with/o a mess. Love being able to use 3pt hitch from back of tractor.
Cons: Minor electrical. Start switch does not like being left outside. Has always started, but not always first time.

Orange, but not a Kubota

I like my Kioti. Its just that in the past owning Kubotas, it fails in comparison to them. It performs well and does have the power. The loader that came with it is way undersized for the size of this model. Certain features are annoying, like the control arm for loader. In the way of your hip on the side. The rear hydro switch is also in a bad spot, and easy to hit when exiting the tractor. Next time you try to start, if its engaged, it wont start until disengaged. Oil filler cap is just plain dumb with a piece of rod iron in your way to fill. Battery compartment fell threw a weak, spot welded grill the first year I owned it. It doesnt feel like 45 hp to me either. Other tractors that were 35 or 40 seem to have more power. I can stall this one just digging into dirt with loader. HST on my Kubota was instant, where this one has an annoying delay, especially when cold. Paint is rusting in non working places after 2 years. Like I said, runs and performs pretty well, just not as well as I would like.

Pros: Rear controls for 3 pt hitch. Seat. Turn radius. Large tires. Loader weight limit is great.
Cons: Several.

DK45 SE Cab
Model Year: 2011

I've had this tractor since June and have had no real issues with it. I upgraded from a CK30 and have loved every minute of it. I've used the tractor for bush hogging, snow blowing, box scrapping, moving brush with grapple and leveling ground and it's worked A1.

Pros: Cab with air and heat. All controls are easy to get at; lots of power, able to control 3pt hitch from back of tractor.
Cons: I wish that they would put in a seat with arm rest and come with another set of remotes.

I love this tractor. I bought this tractor used and have put 30 hrs. on it. I have used this as a bull dozer, forklift, crane, and tractor.It just keeps doing what I ask of it. I am just about done with going through the whole tractor and a fluid change. With the exception of a dirty electrical connection causing starting issues, this tractor is like new.

Pros: Plenty of power and weight, HST is great. It will almost turn in it's own length w/o using brakes. It is very quiet.
Cons: I wish it had R1 tires instead of R4. Not a tractor fault. No other issues.

First tractor - Kioti DK45SE HST

I'm overdue with this review, but for the first year or so, the tractor was an expensive lawn ornament. Bought a bush hog this year and have been giving it a work out. This is my first tractor, so I might miss some things that more experienced owners might expect, but I'm pretty happy with the tractor. My wife suggested the HST to help me navigate the hills and hollows (known locally as hollers), and so far its worked fine. We really wanted a good heavy, stable tractor due to the slopes. Helped getting a great deal on it (free FEL and a nice discount since it was a show model). My neighbor did some bush hogging for me and he compared it to the prior farm owner's Kubota - when driving across a slope, the Kubota would slide halfway down while the Kioti held a straight line across. He said that he thought the Kioti could climb a tree if he tried. The tractor seems to have plenty of power, is stable and is easy to work on hillsides. My only gripe with it is that the hoses for the FEL under the step become disconnected when I bush hog (just had all 4 pop off). Could use some type of guard to prevent this. Would also be nice to have a more detailed users manual, especially for noobies, but I think that's true for all equipment. All in all, getting good use from the tractor and I feel pretty secure even on slopes.

Pros: Stability, traction, power.
Cons: FEL hoses prone to disconnecting.

Saved $16000 Buying a Kioti Over Kubota
Model Year: 2009

I have had 2 Kubotas now starting with a B7800 30horse then moved up to a L3400 34horse with a 60 inch bucket up from 48. Both had the 4690 backhoe that fit on each machine. However like motorcycles more power is always better I was looking on Craigslist and ran onto a Kioti 45horse hydro with a 401 loader for $20K. The Kubota was paid for being a 2008 I decided to upgrade one last time. I could not be happier the Kioti is a beast it will lift double what the Kubota would the fit and finish is great. The local Kubota dealer would give me $11K on trade Cowlitz river rigging got me $13.5 on consignment and moved the machine quick. The equivalent Kubota with a backhoe would have cost me around $16K more. I like Kubotas but they are not that great. After looking on the internet and taking an old farmer buddy of mine with me to check out the machine I made the deal. Scott at Cowlitz river rigging is great to deal with and a standup guy. Would make the same move again.

Pros: Great loader, remote hyd standard, quick attach bucket.
Cons: Hyd. filter=$90.
