LS 4020 H
Model Year: 2010
I liked the tractor from the very beginning. It was strong and made well. The controls were not all as handy as I would have would liked, but I knew I would get used to them. With the seat all the way back I was some cramped with the brake petals, but the go petals were fine. I am 5'10" and 180 lbs. so this would be a real problem for a big guy. I would still have the tractor except for one bad problem: on a hard pull with the RPM's high for power, the thing would jump out of range. The first time this happened, it scared the heck out of me. The brakes are on the left so I was slow getting on them. I thought I had bumped the range handle so I tried it again with my foot near the brake and my arm clear of the range handle. As soon as it was under a load on a steep section out it came again. The company technician had the dealer's mechanic put in shims to make it stay in range. I tried it the next day and out it came. That was it for me. LS took it on trade for what I paid for it for another tractor, Non hydro. On a final note I want to say the LS people as well as my dealer were great about this whole thing. As soon as I said I didn't want it, they started working to do what I wanted. I don't know how many company's would have worked as hard to please a customer.
Pros: Very strong with good finish.
Cons: Operators area a little cramped for big operator. Will jump out of gear under heavey load.
