Mahindra 2810 Gear, Newer Version
Model Year: 2003
This is the newer sheet metal version. We have 4 acres, and use a 6 foot Buhler Farm King, 56-in tiller, scrape blade, middle buster, Pittsburgh type tiller and FEL. We have turf type tires on it, which do struggle some when working in the garden (60ft x 250ft) depending on the implement being used. Having 4wd and a locking rear diff prevents any stuck situations though. FEL is definitely strong enough to lift the back end off the ground if you aren't careful. It is a fairly simple 5 min. job to remove/install the FEL. The gear version is 4-spd. with L,M,H, effectively making it a 12spd (both forward and reverse). Paint has somewhat faded, but it is 10 years old. Everything works perfectly on it. I have just started to see a drip of some hydraulic oil from one of the lift arms. The tail lights are housed in a plastic housing that is prone to cracking because you pretty much have to lean against them when putting on or taking off implements. Overall has plenty of power (28hp at crank, 24 @ PTO). The PTO can be operated either in gear, out of gear, and with the clutch depressed). We have been very pleased with its performance and even my wife is not terrified to operate it. Weighs about 3300lbs in operating condition so it has great weight for handling the FEL and loads on the back.
Pros: Simple controls, plenty of power, 4WD.
Cons: Cheaper plastic around lights.
