MAHINDRA6530 Mahindra
1 Major, 1 Minor Problem on Mahindra 6530
Model Year: 2012

Love the power and the smoothness of the shifting. However, have had the 3 pt hydraulics lock up on me after 1-2 hours of use. Took it to dealership to have canopy installed and for repair and they forgot to look at the 3pt hydraulics. Of course first time I used it, it locked up again. Now I have a fuel leak where the fuel line enters the top/back part of the engine. Guess I'm going to have to have dealer come to my farm. Bought new so I would not have a bunch of down time, as my time is my least available resource.

Pros: Power & weight.
Cons: Some things don't work right.

Trouble Free Tractor
Model Year: 2011

Has been a great tractor for me. Good heavy tractor with loader. Have had zero problems and handles all the work I throw at it.

Pros: Good value, good weight, good fuel economy.
Cons: Hard to see attachments, bucket on loader, in lowered position.

Great Tractor; Needs Tweaking
Model Year: 2010

All in all the tractor is fine. There is one problem for tall people like me: the levers for the hydraulic lift are so low that one must lean over to the right to use them. Perhaps the levers could be made a bit longer? Otherwise, for the money, a great deal.

Pros: Good power, easy starting, runs good.
Cons: Levers are too short and oil fill is difficult.

My Mahindra
Model Year: 2011

I love my Mahindra. It is a super practice tractor. I got the detachable forklift and front bucket. I use the forklift a great deal. Being 68, the forklift is my "back". I also have an auger which is very useful. One downside to it is the power lift handle. It is clear to me that. People in India are shorter than we are. I have also had trouble with the hour meter working. Still, it is a great tractor and I wouldn't trade for it.

Pros: Good power, reliable.
Cons: Hour meter unreliable, power lift uncomfortable.

6530 Nightmare
Model Year: 2008

This tractor has a chronic injector pump issue at 540 hrs. it is down for the 3rd time can't wait to get it out of the shop so I can trade it off on something that won't leave me stranded every time I need to really use my tractor.

Pros: Pretty red color.
Cons: Unreliable.

Blown Engine
Model Year: 2011

The engine blew up in the middle of fall hay cutting with 28 acres still to go. It.dropped a valve, busted the piston, sleeve, and broke the connecting rod..I had just mowed a field of hay and was just above idle going to the next field when it happened. At just over 600 hours, this is unreal. If it had not been under warranty i would have been stuck with it. When i get it back I will trade it for something else.

Pros: i liked how it rode and where all the controls were and the 3-point hitch set up
Cons: Engine blew up, shifter broke right after I bought it,front tire leaked air around brackets that hold them on so i had to put tubes in the tires

Trouble
Model Year: 2009

The oil filter is not protected. The mower kicked up an object and hit the oil filter leading to catastrophic engine failure. which required a full engine rebuild and no use of the tractor for 6 months until, finally, Mahindra covered all but about $2000 of the repairs. It never ran right after the repair and I found that the injector pump had failed. The engine had never run out of fuel. and the pump rebuilt by an esteemed injector pump shop failed after it was re-installed and couldn't start or get timed. The shop then found that the pump was not rebuilt properly and redid t for another $2000 and got the thing started. I now have a tractor with under 300 hours and with $9100 in repair costs. Apparently, there is an issue with the design (per a tractor mechanic) in that the gravity fed injector pump needs an electric fuel pump to keep primed and not damage the injector pump. My IH 986 has never had a pump rebuilt at nearly 8000 hours.

Pros: Cost
Cons: Cost to keep running, poor engineering
