Not Good
Model Year: 2012

Every time you hit the key you have a surprise: oil leaks glow plugs, electrical problems, 3 sets of power take-off clutches, hydraulic pump, and the list goes on and on. I have also had to wait two and a half months for parts. I'm definitely going back to New Holland.

Pros: None
Cons: Garbage

Great Power And Size
Model Year: 2016

I only gave 4 stars on quality because of missing hardware. So far I found 1 HST link with no washer and pin. Also, the seat hinge pin should have a washer next to the cotter pin (pin broke while in use).

Pros: Great value for the money, more capable
Cons: Some quality assurance misses

Beware
Model Year: 2015

Your tractor is only as good as service and parts departments, and mine are seriously lacking. Its more like a college dorm than a professional tractor place. I have had nothing but issues. Once they got my signature on the finance forms, all communication stopped. A 5-year warranty means nothing unless the regional manager will approve it. My dealer got them to cover it, but it was not easy and I threw a fit. There was no compensation for putting me out 6 weeks. I had to deliver my own tractor and implements. I bought a backhoe, bush hog, and rototiller and got no instructions, photos, or showing me after asking someone to help me hook up 3-point hitch and power take-off. I have never used either. I almost took off my hand, and then chains ripped apart and the blade shredded inside the mower, I think from the angle or height, since no one helped me. If i bring it in, the warranty guy will say it is operator error and not covered. The warranty is useless. Get a better company that stands behind their customers and punishes dealers for bad service, bad communication, and no training. Both 3-point hitch connection arms broke off and I had to buy new ones at local tractor supply, which was more helpful than local Mahindra dealer. I can't figure out how to move the seat, can't figure out how to put the backhoe back on, and can't figure how to put rollover protection structures back. I am downright angry for wasting $30 grand. It is the most money I ever spent on something with wheels. I get, and continue to get, no help from local dealer.

Pros: It i diesel, hopefully I can sell it and get a bigger more reliable machine
Cons: Weak front-end loader, can't lift a pallet of 2,000 pounds fire blocks, I waited 6 weeks for the bush hog, then cruise locked up in 4 hours after "hitting" a rock or stick, the front grille is plastic, it has no belly pan, there are inferior manuals with no pictures

Great Little Tractor With Lots Of Options
Model Year: 2014

The day my tractor was delivered, I used it to get the van and trailer that delivered my 800-pound safe out of deep mud. I have used the backhoe to dig 40 feet of 8-inch water pipe out of crush-crete and replaced it with 15-inch double-wall culvert in about five hours. I spread 20 yards of mulch in 4 hours, and I have knocked down and spread 18 each 16-yard loads of fill dirt and 2 loads of crush-crete for a driveway using the bucket loader and a 4-foot box scraper. I used the box scraper and a 5-foot Titan landscape rake to finish about 1.5 acres and get it ready for seeding as my new lawn. It did all of that in 80 hours of engine time and while I am still learning to operate my implements efficiently. My small tractor works like a mid-size. The only reason I rated it less than 5 Stars for value is because I have realized I could have bought a bigger one for about the same price and, as every owner quickly learns, you can always find a use for a bigger tractor. It has had absolutely no maintenance issues. It is easy to operate, and hooking up implements to the 3-point hitch is just as easy as advertised. It is a great compact with mid-size capabilities, and built like a brick outhouse.

Pros: Easy implement connection (including backhoe); great 3-point hitch, solid frame
Cons: Have to remove a side panel to access engine oil dipstick--a minor nuisance

I bought this tractor for home use. It dies all the time with only 68 hours on it. The dealer wont help and says I had a 2 year warranty and that is all. It is not fuel related. I don't have a clue what it could be but am going to have to take it in to be serviced and pay a high fix-it fee for a brand new tractor. I should have bought a Kubota or Case like my brother said.

Pros: Small and will fit in my shed
Cons: Don't work

Satisfied Mahindra Max 25 HST Owner NE Tennessee
Model Year: 2013

I am very satisfied with the Mahindra Max 25. I looked at several SCUT's before buying the Max 25 HST. I live in N.E. Tennessee on top of a long ridge, with a little over 10 acres. Woods and about 5-6 acres of pasture to keep mowed. All of it on an incline, some really steep, some not. The Max 25 is heavy and stable, with the 4WD used as needed. It's heavy enough to keep me mowing safely, and not so heavy as to wreck the turf. It's pasture I mow, but keep it looking like a lawn. I previously owned a 1973 Simplicity Power Max, 4041. It served me well, but at 40 years old I was working on it more and more with parts getting harder to find and expensive. It had a belly mower 60”, and was not 4WD. The Mahindra does everything the 4041 did, much better, easier and faster. It cut my mowing time from 7 hours to under 5 per mow. And this Max 25 is more fuel efficient. It took 8 gallons of gasoline in the 4041 vs 5 gallons of diesel in the Max 25. I purchased my Max 25 with the front end loader (FEL), and belly mower (MMM). Both are great implements, being as rugged and tough as the tractor itself. As others have said, It has always been able to do what I wanted it to do. Without flinching. I also found buying the tractor very easy. At the time there was a No money down, Zero % interest, and 84 month financing promotion going on. And with the 5 year warranty, I could not pass it up. Very happy with this Mahindra Max 25 HST. Would I buy it again? Yes.

Pros: Tough, heavy-duty, dependable, easy, starts hot or cold, great build quality.
Cons: Wish it was made in the USA. The FEL and MMM are made in the USA.

Mahindra Max 25 HST: Big Tractor In a Little Tractor's Body
Model Year: 2013

I have enough land that I needed much more than a lawn tractor but not enough to warrant a full-sized tractor. The sub-compact size is perfect for me. My Mahindra Max came equipped with a hydro front-end loader, 60" belly mower, 25 HP Diesel Engine, Mid and Rear PTO and a nice Category 1 3 point hitch on the back. I looked a long time at other tractors and compared everything from features, to horsepower to frame structure to warranty. When comparing side by side, the Mahindra is simply built with more steel in the frame and front axle. When looking at the "Max" side by side with some other sub-compacts, the Mahindra makes the others look small by comparison. The warranty is hard to beat and the price is actually more competitive than Kubota or Deere. I actually couldn't find a reason not to buy it.

Pros: Power, front-end loader, cat-1 3-pt. hitch, 5 year warranty, features.
Cons: The belly mower is a little challenging to get on and off, but not too bad.

Slightly Used Max 25
Model Year: 0

Looking back on this winter, the purchase of the Max 25 was a perfect investment because of the amount of snow we have received in NW WI. No place to put the snow with plowing. Stacking the snow to 10' piles has helped a lot in keeping the driveway, parking and corral area clean. Added a 4' King Kutter last fall and mowing the pasture got easier.

Pros: Easy turn, hydro-static great, loader works well.
Cons: Bucket a little small for snow.

So Far So Good
Model Year: 2013

Very few hours on my Max so far, but I can easily say it's done every thing I've tossed at it. Plenty of power for pulling, digging, moving. The MMM is wicked blows clippings 100ft easily. Industrial tires are easy on the turf, but offer great traction, even in snow. My max is still young, but like I said above... so far so good.

Pros: What's not to love?
Cons: Where's the cup holder? Could use a lil' more leg room.

Love This Tractor
Model Year: 2013

I've had my Max 25 for a couple of weeks now. I absolutely love it. I bought it with loader, 60" belly mower and 56" front mount snowblower as well as the backhoe. The backhoe was being installed yesterday and I should have it back tomorrow morning, very exciting! So far, I've gotten good use of the mower and the loader and both are very well performing. I'm hopeful the snowblower and backhoe perform just as well. This tractor is solid construction great build quality. The plastic part around the PTO levers is really cheap feeling, but otherwise this tractor is mint!

Pros: Solid workhorse, well designed, powerful for it's size.
Cons: No cup holder.

Outstanding tractor. Built strong and heavy for a sub-compact tractor. Weighs more then 300 lbs more then the Kubota B2630. Also cost much less then the Kubota B2630. Really like the 3pt Hitch position control. This feature is the reason for my buying it. Plenty of HP for the tractor size. Pulling a 4' bushhog mowing 3' to 4' grass and weeds at 3.5 to 4 mph. Probably could pull a 5' bushhog. Nothing cheap about this tractor. Well built.

Pros: 3pt hitch position control. Weight. Operator control ergonomics. Plenty of leg room and wide enough for my big body. Quiet running.
Cons: Can't think of any.

Close Enough That I Didn't Make a Mistake
Model Year: 2013

Let me start by saying this is the first real tractor I have owned. I used some of my neighbors, but that has only been an hour or two each to bush hog in the past. So I went to the dealership because they were having a Kubota weekend. They also started selling Mahindra's this year. I had tried to buy a Mahindra in the past but the financing fell through. But I knew they were dependable, but less costly. The new Mahindra financing is also great. I bought the Max 25 with FEL, MMM, and backhoe. Delivery was smooth. They showed me the pertinent functions and such. They left and then I started trying to mow about two foot high grass with the MMM as high as it would go. I had actually done something way back when with an MTD piece of junk and it worked fine. So when I was calling the dealership thirty minutes later because the tractor wouldn't move I was very ticked off. From what I can tell when the tractor was assembled they didn't run the hydraulic lines above the shields that protect them. They dealership let me think it was my fault for running the deck high. The dealership is on my permanent ___ list for that. Granted that the dealership did loan me a bush hog to wipe out the worst of the tall stuff for the Memorial day weekend. That is also why I'm giving the build a 4 star rating. I keep the FEL permanently mounted for now just because of the amount of stuff that I run into on my property and want to carry back. I am definitely considering a pair of forks because of how much stuff is over width for the bucket. The MMM is doing a great job now. I do keep a can of red rust resistant spray paint on hand just from the fact that I have enough stuff on my property that scratches the paint on the deck. I dropped it last week for the winter season snow removal. That was the first time. Not really that hard, but make sure you have some 2x6 boards to make it easier. As for the backhoe it has been working well. There have been moments that it had a bigger bucket and reach, but that is whining because my none of my neighbors even have one. Since I don't have any 3PH attachments I just run the turnbuckles up to the rear lift arms when the back hoe isn't attached. I did lose one of the turnbuckles while mowing. After paying $50+ for the replacement I have painted them fluorescent orange. I will also do that to anything else that might come loose. I am considering a light bar on the front grill shield just because I plan on using the FEL to move snow. Ohio the sun goes down early. The built in headlights get blocked by the FEL. If I am working to clear snow in the evening I will need better lights. I am also thinking bout rear mounted lights as well.

Pros: Quality for the price, great for a small tractor.
Cons: None that I can really think of.

Can't say enough good about my little tractor. Even friends and neighbors after seeing it work are amazed. Now this is a 25 hp tractor don't expect it to do the work of a 30 or 40 hp. But use it as such and you will be amazed also.

Pros: All.
Cons: None.

Max 25 HST
Model Year: 2012

Seems to be a well built tractor. Lots of traction and power. It turns pretty sharply. Using the brakes individually is difficult since the right foot applies the brake and controls the tractor speed. You must engage the speed control then use your right foot to control the tractor speed. You must disengage the speed control manually (can't just bump the brake). This is a bit of safety issue. The dealer has taken the tractor and mid-mower back to his shop the see if he can adjust the the deck so it will raise higher than approximately 2.5 inches. Manual says it should raise to 4.5 inches.

Pros: Well built.
Cons: Engine is mounted with radiator in front of engine so heated air is blown back on driver. Better design is with radiator behind engine so air pulled past the driver and then through the radiator.

Greetings All, I love my Mahindra. The machine seems to work very well. It starts easily even when cold. I have a 54 inch blizzard rear mount blower that also works very well. I also have the MB60A backhoe that does everything I have asked it to do. Finally the front end loader also seems to work well.

Pros: Good power at a reasonable cost, strong local dealer.
Cons: More ground clearance.

Maxx 25
Model Year: 2012

I needed a tractor to replace an 8N and a Husqvarna lawn tractor. The 25 seems to be doing the job quite well. High range is not good for much besides transport and mowing, while low range is used for every thing else. I have the turf tires and on soft ground in 4wd there is still a bit of tearing of the sod. The only real complaint I have is that to check the engine oil you need to remove the side cover. Seems as though Mahindra could have spec'ed a longer tube and dipstick from Mitsubishi. I am happy that the Titan tires and wheels along with the Fel and MMM are USA made. All in all I am happy with my decision although in my case being a compromise it won't do all things as well as the machines it replaced.

Pros: Small and maneuverable.
Cons: Dip stick hard to use.

Great Machine
Model Year: 2012

I have nothing but good things to say about the Max 25 so far. I purchased the FEL with toothbar, 60" MMM and had the rear tires filled with rim guard. It mows very well with a nice professional look. The tractor has plenty of power to mow in high range. The loader works very well also so far. I haven't done any serious work with the loader yet, but initial impressions are very good. The only negative comment I have is that at first I didn't care for the heel/toe arrangement of the HST pedal but after getting used to it I actually find it quite comfortable now. For its size it very maneuverable and stable. With the rear tires filled the stability is quite impressive. Even with all of the rain we have had lately the industrial tires don't tear up the yard. It is very easy to remove/install the FEL and MMMM. At first I thought I would just leave the FEL on but after learning how easy it is to remove and reinstall, I only put it on when I need it now. The MMM is equally easy to remove and reinstall.

Pros: Maneuverability, performance, mowing quality.
Cons: None so far.
