Why I Would Like To Meet the Assembler of My Gearbox
Model Year: 2009
Bought the Siromer from new, used it for years in all conditions, then one day there was a terrible crunching sound from the gearbox between my legs. Cutting a long story of how I got the tractor back to my workshop: I removed the top plate of the gearbox, the one holding the gear stick in place, to find that the little chap who fitted the gear stick into place with two bolts and tab washers, had forgotten to knock the tab washers over, thus one of the bolts had over the years, wriggled out, and then dropped down into the box. You can imagine the mess. I had to strip the entire gearbox and diff. assembly right down to remove the broken gears. They were replaced and the whole lot reassembled. Yes, I did knock over the tab washers.
Pros: Very low cost.
Cons: You get what you pay for.
