I'm eagerly awaiting results postings as I have never found anything that totally cleans up concrete after an oil spill!

I have found that dry dirt works pretty good, as good as sawdust or kitty litter. And I have an unlimited supply... But it still leaves a stain. Not that I mind much, it's a shop after all!

Too funny! I of course also agree - a shop is a shop - but I also have seriously leaky roof over my shop, and after heavy rains water washes through my oil puddle and out the door into my driveway. We're not talking Exxon Valdez here, but even a little oil can lead to a major environmental disaster . . . .

By the way, picked up a bottle of Pour and Restore the other day at the hardware store. I'll probably give it a try this weekend and let you know how things turned out.

While it is true that the puddle has grown to epic proportions . . . ~ 3' X 2' . . . at least with respect to the size of my shed, I'm not quite ready to call in the Hazmat team .

One thing I have seen the pros use is a 15% hydrogen peroxide solution, works well if you can find that strength in your area. Don't use anything stronger or it may become a fire hazard, and wear PPE to protect your eyes and skin.

After it's clean find a good epoxy floor paint, it will clean up much easier after it's been painted.

We'll see about H2O2, but definitely painting the floor with a good epoxy would make cleanup much, much easier.

So, I tried the pour and restore last week and was fairly impressed. While it certainly didn't remove everything, it did seem to soak up the bulk of the oil that had penetrated the concrete. The only downside is that a standard sized bottle covers about a 3' X 3' area tops. For larger spills this translates into a lot of product and some $$$$.

Good suggestion, however, and best thing I've tried to date!
