I just happened to notice, as we were driving by the Kroger's in Denton today that the sign showed regular gas at $1.919 and diesel at $2.999. It's hard to believe diesel is over a dollar a gallon higher than gas.

We are still creeping down here but it is like the gas guys are really dragging their feet. Of course the cheapest gas in town is on the other side of town.:( Must be some part of Murphys law.

We're still over 2.00 here. The cheapest I've seen is 2.39 for regular. Diesel is still well over 3.00 around here.

Maybe it's bottomed out and going to start back up. I know some thought the prices would go up after the election. I noticed this afternoon that the Sam's Club in Lewisville is back up to $2.089.

I heard some economist being interviewed on bloomberg radio the other day saying that he expects oil to go down even more. Boy I hope that he's right. We've been holding steady the last 3 days at 2.39 for regular and 3.49 for diesel around these parts.

Around here Regular is going for $1.97 and Diesel $2.04.
When diesel gets to $1.50 I'll be happy.

The one thing that I've learned for sure about the price of oil is that ALL the "experts" don't have a clue. I think one half say it's going up, then the other half say it's going down, and which ever way it goes, they are the current expert. All summer long, they kept telling us how much higher it was going to go. The President Bush opened up the coast for drilling and the Republicans forced the Democrats to do the same. Next thing you know, the price of oil crashes.

It's all a game. As long as they can invent some reason to pretend there is a shortage, they can raise the price. There's so much oil available that they have to limit how much they pump in oder to limit supply. Every year there are new oil fields discovered, and in just the last few years, those oil fields have been HUGE!!!!

There is no oil shortage, none of the experts have a clue how much oil is out there, or even what creates it. There is no proof that the planet isn't making more of it, and there are some oil wells that are actually rising from previous levels. Where's that oil coming from?

If there ever was a worldwide conspiracy, it's the amount of oil that's avialable and how long those supplies will last.

I don't disagree with you one bit Eddie, I'm just hoping that this "expert" is correct and the price of oil is going to continue to go down :) I do believe that for the good of this country that we need to stop sending money to the middle east for their oil and become energy independent.

Diesel was $3.09 today from $3.19 yesterday. Seems like it is dropping in price about a dime a week.

We are hoping that we go to the wife's family for Thanksgiving on Friday not on Thursday. There is a 285 gallon fuel tank we want to pick up for free that we have been trying to get for months and months. I just assuming that I'm going to paint the tank and build a shed for it so I doubt it will get filled up until the end of winter or spring. By then the price should have stabilized. Going to be nice having some fuel at home. Almost could not find fuel after the hurricanes.

The state has nailed a few stations for price gouging. These places had priced fuel at about a dollar more than other stations. They having to pay fines and refund the price difference. If you paid with a credit card it would just be given back. If you paid with cash I think you are shafted. You have to have a receipt. The fine for one station was $5,000.

The company(Gaines) we will use to fill our tank also delivers fuel to our town. Just saw this in the paper and it surprised me in a good way. We asked around on who to get as a fuel supplier and his name kept popping up. The town is going after their supplier that Gaines buys the fuel from. The supplier charged over a $1 per gallon compared to other. Not sure WHY they had to use that supplier though. Just interesting. :)

Later,
Dan
