so does anyone know of plans of a factory cab for this one?

Do you think your current loader would work on the new 8N? That would look cute and save you money from having to buy a new loader:D

I don't think so. The loader mounting posts are different and have slightly different mounting hardware and technique.

In the design section of the originally posted web site they do show a drawing of a factory cab.

Sweet looking Machine - love the retro. Hard to imagine paying that when you can get an original for usually around $2K. My dad had 2 8Ns and a 9N - very nice machines.

The original and this model are way different so it is not that hard to imagine.

Yes...didn't meant to imply they were they same machine because they definitely are not.

Rob, I think you have to compare the NH price with a comparable 50 hp JD with IVT to see just how marketable the Boomer 8N will be. Also, when you compare a new gear-drive Boomer cut to an old 8N, the new Boomer looks like a waxed Sunday-driver by comparison. The cost of the 8N was around $1000 new as I remember. Any tractor today looks like gold by comparison. Times change, and so do price conceptions. I think many of the shiny chrome components of the Boomer 8N, like a chrome ROPs, will be optional. If you look at the basic tractor without options, it is just a very nice red-belly with that medium-gray painted hood and fenders so many people love. The seat looks radical, but having all those vent holes could really be nice after about 4 hours in the Texas sun.

But I'll admit it. If I had one, I'd be out there with my can of wax and be taking lots of pictures of my shiny new "toy.":D

Man I was with ya until that last line!! :D :D

Even with this economy I think this tractor will do well. So many people have fond memories of the old 8n and would love to own this new version just because of that. I am only 30 but......

In this economy...well that depends. In any economy there are still people with money..IE when my wife wins the lotto I'll still be spending like a fool!! But even now in Southeast Texas it's hitting home. Me included. :( With consumer confidence so low, everyone stops spending. So the guy who makes a living with a tractor is going to be looking for value instead of gimmicks. Hmmm, $10k more for a paint job and CVT when I'm cutting/mowing hay 99% of the time, a gear works fine for this. If he is really worried then he'll go with the cheaper option. I would. If he's got money and wants a toy, he'll buy. This same guy probably uses his truck as much tractor...and we know people have stopped buying cars and trucks. Maybe the gov has a buyout plan for tractor owners to!!

I and most hay growers would prefer a CVT over a gear tranny for hay work.

I am not saying this tractor is going to set sales records but NH really doesn't have to sell a lot of units to be profitable as the base tractor is already there. They changed the sheet metal and paint and added the CVT. The CVT is the most costly part of this tractor and that is going to find its way into the blue versions eventually.

Time will tell just how well this model sells.

I know one good thing that is going to happen for New Holland.... They are going to get a lot of people coming in to look at the new 8 N.... I know I am planning a trip to my closest dealer as soon as they get some in.... And then while people are there it is no telling what things they might buy that they would not have if they were not there to see the new tractor.

If I was a NH dealer, I would be excited!!
