Kubota M4900 FEL; New Holland TC30 MMM; Ford 1620; Ford 1520 MMM; John Deere X740; John Deere 455 MMM; Craftsman 19.5hp;;;;; Antiques: 1946 John Deere B; 1951 John Deere MT; 1952 Allis Chalmers B; 1967 International 140
Ok, we've recently borrowed a BX23 to dig some asparagus trenches, and it was great. We used it for other small odd jobs as well. We think we may get one. Here's what I came up with:

John Deere 2305---$16,718

Kubota BX24-------$16,673

Kubota BX25-------$18,445

All TLB with R4s and 12" buckets. I prefer Deere, Dad thinks we should try Kubota for this one, and I've heard that the BX24 had a little more problems than the other BX TLBs.

We have great relationships with both dealers, Kubota dealer says we could walk with the BX24 for $15k. We could probably get the same at the Deere dealer.

We are also getting a new Deere X700 series tractor within the next year as well, so that may be an even bigger discount for buying bulk.

So, the questions are:

1. Which ones would you pick?
2. What problems are there with the BX24?
3. Which price is fairest?
4. Would it be better to buy used with 200 or so hours for $2-4k off?

Thanks,
Kyle

Have owned a 2210 w/fel,mmm,front blade, and now 2305 w/all the same and bh
Just like the jd because of foot controls for HST compared to Kubota plus the fel control on Deere is right at your side don't need to stretch or keep arm up all the time.
Either of the brands should give years of trouble free service.
Plus this is what one of my friends that has a Bx24 w/hoe and he said he needed to run machine at near full throttle to use hoe. Not so with the 2305 you can dig a idle .if you run machine at 18-2000 helps your movement speed some
Best of luck with your choice.

I'd go for the 2305 because of the reasons mentioned above, but especially for the pedal control, I can't stand Kubota's rocker pedal. Which Kubota dealership are you talking to, Gateway?

that's a good price for the JD, like above I hate the control positions on the kubota, but they make very reliable machines

Of course all good machines. One problem I have read/heard about w/ the Bx 24 is the reverse seems to be very jerky when you release off the pedal, but apparently that was corrected w/ the BX25

1*2* and 3* I can not make a call on this comparison because for me it is not complete and leaves out other options..
4*This is poorly stated as it implies that all BXs had problems.
5*One thing I know is you can't assume anything so I'd have to know for sure before deciding.
6*If you buy one now and another one in about a year that's not buying in bulk.
If you were to buy both at the same time that would be worth more toward some savings.
7*So why couldn't you get the same offer on Kubota?
You might save even more and get more in the process.
8*None of them as I would not be done shopping pricing and comparing at this point.
9*Quick stop in reverse is about all I know of.
As far as I know the seat and the plastic floor and fender issues were resolved on or before the current models.
10*Form me that's unresolved pending further information

1*John Deere 2305---and JD x700 Total priece $ ?_________
2*Kubota BX24-----And BX1860 total price$ ?_____________
3*Kubota BX25-------and BX1860 total price $ ? _________
I would need the questions in these three items answered before I could make a decision.

The BX25 don't come with a 3 point hitch .
Did you get a price on it?

I don't want/need a three point hitch. I really don't want to sound disrespectful, but I really don't see where the help is in your post. Sorry.
