Yeah, that's what is so neat about some of these threads. You start one place and the thread twists around another way, and you wind up learning something thunderously different than what you expected. Thunderous way to learn.

Great looking tractor. I have been impressed with the amount of work you can get out of such a tractor. Hooray sir for your service and blessings to to a fallen comrade.

I heard that Missouri had some bad storms lately. Any near where you are?

Marshal9 and Diamondback,
Thanks.

jimmyj,
Great to hear from you. Yes, this Missouri weather gas been wicked lately. Two tornados touched down here at the Fort last Friday but that was nothing compared to what Kirksville got two days ago (2 1/2 hrs from us). Couple of deaths from that one.

With no seat time in so long, I've been bored to death. The rain, the surgeries and my real job have taken its toll on my "love of tractoring." The scarring from the foot sergury is about healed up and I can walk normal again. Just got out of the hospital last night for the shoulder surgery and the perkiset has me off in la-la land (this stuff is better than Budweiser). Labrel tear, slap tear, and rotator cuff repair. The docs did a good job. The next and final surgery is 30 JUL and that's for my back. I think I'm going to use the time off next week and sit around the chrome shop until those mafia guys get so sick of looking at me they get off their butts and finish my chrome stack and canopy. This was suppose to take them 2-weeks but it's been four.

Anyhow, have a thunderous day and get some good seat time on the Great Pumpkin ! The updated pics are coming I swear.

missourithunder - It seems you are in a bad way there with all those surgeries. Hope you get better soon. Just a suggestion when it's time to retire from the Army, make sure you pay close attention to the VA briefing that you will receive during your outprocessing. Follow all instructions and fill out your paperwork correctly and you should start receiving VA disability pay just after retirement. As you probably already know, VA disability is tax free and nice to have for the rest of your life. I got my paperwork in just after I was medically retired from the Army with 40% disability. The VA rated me at 60%, so I draw all my money from VA tax free since we can't double dip yet. Sorry for the lecture, I just like passing this info along to those that may not think about VA disability. Tod

Glad you're on the mend.

Got a little homesick seeing all that green grass in your thumbnail photo. Things are really drying out here in the North Sacramento Valley. We get our 1st triple digit temps this weekend if the weatherguy is reading the tea leaves correctly.

I spent the morning cutting 25ft wide firebreaks along my fencelines (total about 1/2 mile) using the Mahindra 5525 and an old 6-ft wide Towner offset disc (a freebie from a neighbor).

Ate a lot of dust on this job (we're in the 3rd year of drought around here).

The 2nd photo is facing West along my South fenceline. You can see the Coast Mountains about 50 miles away (4500-7000 ft high).
