Milkman you and your wife should be very happy with that deal - $4K for a 500 hr machine with the updates and service done - you did very very well.. Congrats on your new ZD and post some pics and experience mowing with your new unit!

No pics yet, but I have already mowed down the Maple that my brother planted by the corner marker pin, OOOPS.

Sounds like you acually got to use it?! Believe me, once the wife gets on it you'll never see it again.

Since I took deleivery of mine I put maybe 30 minutes on it so far - totally due to the fact that my father (who is 86) is having a blast - he looks forward to cutting my lawn every week (he is trying to convince me that he has to do it 2x/wk). The only time I get to use the ZD is when I take it out of the barn and drive it up to the house for him to use. Once I recut the lawn the same day just to get a little seat time.

Good Luck - you got a great maching and a great deal.

Milkman, if you two are new to ZTR mower, get in middle of open lawn to begin with. Next to a ditch is about the last place to begin. Wet slopes are hard to control them on due to their design. Boy are they fun to cut with!

That's good advice, the wife got on it today and mowed for about half an hour, I noticed she was taking just a little more than half a swath, think she's trying to make the fun last longer. Right before she stopped, she hit a stump and broke one of the deck axle bolts and the wheel fell off. I didn't tell her about the tree I cut down. :)
jambx, I think I have already lost the mower unless I can sneak it out of the shed while she's at work.

Took some pics before it gets banged up and dirty, the dealer told me it is an '02 so that must be the last year before the ROPS. I haven't measured yet, but the rear tires look to be wider set than the BX so I shouldn't have any trouble on the two slopes that I mow.

Milkman, that's what I love about my zero-turn. It's so much more stable for mowing on hills than my BX. Nice machine, hope you enjoy it.
