Do you Text message while driving the tractor

I saw a thing on TV about a contact lens that will display info on it ala "The Terminator". They are a long way off from that level of sophistication but I think it's kind of scary someone thinks they "need" something like that.

I have, but usually stop. It is convenient for me to get messages from my family without having to stop and talk. I leave my cell on vibrate and may or may not feel that initial vibrate, but usually catch it pretty quick. Sometimes the messages are just to let me know my wife and kids are running to town. I do not advocate texting and operating a tractor or vehicle.

I find it hard to believe that anyone can text while operating. It would be nearly impossible to manipulate tiny buttons while bouncing along. Not like tractors have super smooth rides. Perhaps under ideal conditions. I will READ text messages anywhere. My phone allows me to be away from my desk. If someone needs me, they page me. It buys me seat time.

Not all fields are rough and not all tractors ride rough. I can text easily on most of my fields as well as read texts and anything else I want. The only thing I have problems with is talking to people because the tractor is too loud.

Forget the safety issues. I get on the tractor precisely to escape the part of my world that involves cellphones, computers, the internet, etc.

I don't drive a tractor for hours on end in order to make a living so my reasons and needs are different than some of you. I don't even want the cellphone with me when I'm on the tractor.

I really don't consider TV a basic need, or the microwave that I use maybe 3 times a month, I'm also in the John Madden "no fly club". Now that toilet paper stuff, that was a good idea.
