Just a little heads up to anyone that may ever need glass from Kioti.
Kioti will not ship glass via UPS nor will they drop ship it to a customer.
It will have to go to a Kioti dealer via LTL.

Thanks Wallace, this thread needed that statement.

Sucks your dealer isn't being helpful. I will tell you that you're wrong though. The tractors are excellent pieces of machinery. My dealer is BTI and I'm absolutley amazed at how quick I get parts, warranty or otherwise.

Your frustration is understandable.

I know guys with Kubota, Deere, NH, MF..., take your pick, and they have similar problems now and then. You ain't special.

Good luck.

Dadndadn,
Then you're waiting for a limited truck load. If this is the case, you should try calling Melvin. Like I said before, he's a mom and pop shop. He travels to pick up his shipments. He may be heading that way, this Friday. Art

Wow, I didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings. I guess you are right DMACE, I will just call a glass shop and have them fabricate a piece of glass for me, since Kioti doesn't do the glass for their proprietary cabs that are built onto their tractors. The reason I called Kioti was because my dealer was not supporting me. All of you who said that was not the way to handle just really dont have a clue. As far as it being warranty work or not is irrelevant. The tractor needs a repair, I go to the dealer, they dont come through. Last but not least, I can go off on the Kioti brand as much as I want, seeing that I have given them a lot of money for their product, was promised a certain level of service and then do not get it. Yes, if my car windshield was broken and my dealer wasnt helping me, I would call Ford or Chevy and complain. All of the timid people who will let companies walk all over them are the reason that it is hard to get service anymore. If you pay for something, you should get what you pay for. If you have a conversation with your dealer or his supplier, etc, you should expect to hear the truth. The whole point of this post was to show that not only the dealer, but the lady at Kioti had lied to me. They both could have told me that since I broke the window by using the tractor that it was my fault, and therefore, my problem. A lot of the posters feel that way. Then I would know that I needed to find a glass manufacturer and have them make the glass for me, as suggested by another poster. But instead of telling me that they didn't really care if I got my tractor fixed, they said they would have the glass to me within a couple of days. THAT IS THE POINT, THEY LIED TO ME INSTEAD OF BEING HONEST UP FRONT! I understand that concept just doesn't make it to some of you, but when you realize that is the point, you will understand the point.

Coobie has a lot of experience with both Kubota and Kioti. I take him at his word. In some defense of the OP, but not against Kioti, I had to rule out Kioti and Branson a couple of years ago when my Kubota dealer honked me off to the point I moved to a different brand of tractor for my main tractor. (I'd say "large" tractor but, in the overall aspect, 80 hp PTO really isn't that big of a tractor). My only reasonably close Kioti/Branson dealer has one old fella as a tech and sells all sorts of trinkets and baskets at his store to make ends meet. I'm not knocking the guy for doing what he can to stay afloat, but I've heard that getting parts and service through him is a nightmare and that he only stocks filters and fluids in his parts department. If I wanted to do all my own wrenching I would have ordered a 'do it yourself' Jinma kit (heard they aren't available anymore?).

My local JD dealer has always bent over backwards for me, picked up my tractors and delivered them for me, as well as getting 'policy adjustments' to fix items out of factory warranty for me. As with most all of my equipment, I maintain them extremely well and I also use them very hard. Hard use isn't to be confused with abuse. You can use something hard without abusing it. Doing such seems to insure that over the years I'll have broken parts at some time or another. I've gone around in a circle, ending up back with the brand I started with a quarter century ago due to the service I receive from that dealer and the same store manager who has been there the entire time. I guess I'm just used to most anything being replaced/fixed in a couple days max. That's a result of mostly the dealer, but also a product of the dealer network. I sincerely hope Kioti and Mahindra in particular expand their dealer network. I specifically named those two because I'm impressed with their product but can't consider them because they have no representation close to me. Hopefully the OP gets his issues taken care of soon!

I agree with Dargo's point. For someone who absolutely positively needs the services of a well established well respected dealer, there are relatively few areas of the country where Kioti/Mahindra are going to be viable options despite the fact that the tractors themselves are very good and unbeatable values. If you have someone like BTI, Michigan Iron, Wallace, or a number of other high class dealers in your region such concerns fade. For Kioti/Mahindra, the old adage about choosing your dealer before the color of your tractor is indeed true.

For those of us who are not relying on equipment for running a business, we have a bit more leeway so long as we are willing to wield a wrench and have a supportive dealer with internet/cell phone savvy. UPS has shrunk the world and so if your livelihood is not on hold while you wait for the UPS guy to arrive, tractor ownership with these two brands can still be overwhelmingly positive. I have enjoyed doing more work on my tractor than I probaby would have if my dealer were only 10-20 miles away. Doing your own 50hr service and handling at least the smaller warranty labor items yourself is essentially doing the same thing as shade tree mechanics have done on cars (and tractors) for years. The caveat is that my enjoyment is dependent on having a supportive dealer who knows full well that he needs a business model that supports remote customers and that he and his staff carry their end of the bargain so very well.

I've read this thread, quite a few times, and I've finally come to the conclusion that it's totally useless. The very few posts, that have offered a helping hand, have been totally ignored. Otherwise, this thread seems like a long drawed out commercial for one brand over the other.

Winning an argument, on the internet, won't get the tractor fixed.

What would make it more useful? It started as a whiney complaint about the fact that a replacement window wasn't available at his dealer in a day? How could a thread on TBN solve that problem?
