Fast Food

I did something similar a couple nights ago. I took four big chops, and put them in a large ziploc bag. Then, I added a cup or there abouts of Franks Red Hot sauce. Then a half teaspoon of ancho chili powder. On top of that, I added a whole buch of garlic powder, some onion powder, and some black pepper.

Closed up the bag, mushed it around to spread the seasoning, and let it sit for an hour. Then, grilled it. Yum!

Tonight I grilled some thick boneless pork chops with Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce. I also put two slices of grilled pineapple on the rack above them and let them drip down on the chops. I basted the top of the pineapple with the sauce as well. While the chops were cooking I made some white rice and steamed some green beans that I picked from the garden today. Everything took about 10 minutes to cook. That was fast enough food for me. Mmmm!!! :D

I agree! I have never went hungry, but I hate to see food wasted. If we do not eat it all, then we have lunch for tomorrow. Or a snack later. Don't have to clean your plate if you're full, but don't throw stuff away!

Helped take 16 Scouts to a camp two weeks ago. Great camp, with pretty good camp food. I was amazed at how much food some of those kids wasted. They would take everything they offered, but only eat a couple of the items. It was not just kids in our group, it was kids from all the various troops in camp. They could have told the server "no" to any items they did not want, or could ask for less.

You guys just don't know what good food is, or maybe you do. I grew up in an orphanage, and we ate what we could get, but it was mostly , beans, taters, cornbread , and maters, and sometimes, some kind of meat. I did learn something there , and that we always ate every thing on out plates. If you ain't gonna eat it, don't get it. To this day, I frown on people that serve a full plate, eat half of it and throw the other half away, and kids that eat dessert before the regular meal.

Oh, how I love grilled pork chops. I usually like mine basted in teriyaki sauce and with slices of fresh pineapple. Delicious!

Yeah, Scotty, it seems that I started this thread with a quick lunch of sliced vegetables and it has gone all the way from deer and elk hunting to marinating and cooking pork chops. When it comes to food, things just kinda get out of hand quickly. No harm in that. . . except for my waistline.:D

One of my all time favorites, is still a good tomato sandwich. Thick sliced maters on wheat bread, with a dash of mayo and a dash of salt. Especially when the maters are right out of the garden. Remember my Grandma making them when I was a kid. Still a favorite :D She even made her own mayo.

Good Afternoon Robert,
I have to agree with you on that one ! :)

We never made our own mayo, but a fresh tomato out of the garden, and a few swabs of Real Hellmans, a sprinkle of salt, and there is nothin better ! ;)

I often get upset when Kathleen brings that Hellmans Light junk ..... home:confused: but of course she is trying to look after my health Im sure ! :)

I like to take a nice big tomato out of the garden and while it is still warm from the sun cut the top off, core it, then stuff it with chicken or tuna salad. Serve on a slice of cold iceberg lettuce. Mmmmm!!!!!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

I've been eating a large Florida avacodo for lunch on these hot days... local supermarket has on sale two for three dollars. Split and add a tablespoon of blue cheese dressing on each half... Good eating.
