Trade 3720 for 4520?

Radman,

I would go with 3 110# weights on each rear wheel and at least 6 70# front weights or a fel.
On a 4520 or 4720 go with the e pto it is a very usable feature as well as the updated cruise and loadmatch.

It depends on what you plan to use the tractor for. Mine is used about 70-80% of the time for brush hogging, so it made sense for me to get the E-PTO. I really like the feature. I haven't even tried mowing without it yet - no reason to. It probably would make even more of a difference without a cab.

I think it is one of those options you are not sure you would use until you have it.

I will get the FEL. Do I need 3 110# wts on each side? I was planning on getting 2 on each side. My 3720 has no rear weights and it seems way to light for heavy lifting. The more I think about it, you are probably correctly. If I put a 3 pt attachment on the back weighing 660#s, the weight is much farther back than 660#s on the wheels.

I decided to get the e-pto. I do a lot of rotary and finishing mowing.

I have a 4720 with 3 110# wts on each side and the rear end still will get lite with a full bucket. I do agre that if you did have a the weight it will help.
weel weights will help with tracton to.

I believe I have 2 weights on each wheel on my 4520. If you put 3 - they really stick out.

Darin,
They do stick out but at least they don't affect the footprint when blading and such. I have 3 each side on my 4520 and it is still a little light to me.

I confirmed I have 2 on each side. I would worry about catching them on things if I had 3.

Do you have anything on the 3 point hitch for ballast?

If 2 stick out that much, I wouldn't want to go with 3 on each side. I will probably get R1 tires. Your R4 tires are wider. May even stick out farther with R1 tires. Thanks for the pic.

No problem

R1s are pretty hard to beat for traction.
