So, I have been reading all these posts about how unhappy people are with the dealer or dealers they are working with. I had an idea but am not sure it is within TBN guidelines... We all have our equipment in our signatures, why not add in "Dealer of choice: XXX" at the bottom of our signatures? I think this would be a great tool for people searching for dealers and tractors.

I really get irritated when someone blasts their tractor or dealer and people tell them to get a new dealer and the OP just seems to ignore the suggestions, but continue's to blast away!

So, I guess I am asking the moderator's if this would be appropriate on TBN?

:D Ag-Bag Forage Solutions in Astoria, Or. (Montana Tractors) Locally owned and always friendly and helpful, even two years after sale. Must be doing well, they're building a new shop building, using a local contractor and local materials.:)...Dan.

OK, I'm a moderator, so I'll try to answer a bit. Any change in policies would be within the purview of Tractorbynet's owner, Muhammad Chishti, instead of the moderators. There has never been anything wrong with posting positive comments about dealers, or posting things that a dealer has done to make you happy. So, in my opinion, your idea is OK for those who wish to post such information. Of course, you need to keep in mind that the Terms of Use prohibit advertising in the discussion forums without prior permission from Tractorbynet.

Thank you Bird,...that sounds fair enough to me. I would most certainly give my dealer a plug as they treat me as fairly as possible I believe. I have had some issues but they have always gone to bat for me on warranty matters. Seems to me they have gone out of their way at times for me,...I suppose you consider that,.. "above and beyond the call of duty".

Sure I live real handy to them, (quarter mile) but they don't "have" to send a mechanic over to check a problem on my front lawn,...or drive me home when I leave it in,...or even drive it over to the house when done!!! No,..not every time,..but once in a while certainly "earns" a good word on this forum!

When I periodically stroll into the shop, certain mechanics will take a second to hear your problem and seem genuinely interested in helping sort it out, or sharing a tip on how best to deal with it. That means a lot to me. Or when I waltz upto the Service Manager's Desk,.. I know he's overloaded with phone calls, paper work etc,... but he always gives me that "sign" that says, "be with you ASAP,... and when that time comes, he treats me like I'm the "only" person that counts,..for as long as it takes!

This dealership changed hands a couple times over the thirty years I've dealt with them. During that time I've dealt with the other, orange, red, yellow etc dealers in the surrounding area, and "never" found one I didn't like...but one very important aspect is the handy location of the John Deere dealer to me.

But to find the folks behind both the Sales "AND" Service counters, warm, friendly, knowledgeable of product,...eager to satisfy,....and seemingly on the "discreet" hunt for future business,.....has most assuredly got my interest!!!

Now Bird,...with the greatest respect Sir,... if the foregoing "sounds" to you like an "advertisement",....let me assure you it was NOT intended to be. It was and is,....merely, a "good word" put forth by a happy customer.

The name of my dealer:, above described to wit: Elmira Farm Service, John Deere Equipment, Wellington Rds. 124 & 125 at Ospringe in Erin, Ontario, CANADA 1-519-833-9332 This is just one of their five branches.
