Im in gaston, its not far from where I-77 and I-26 met each other. Im putting my wife thru school right now so money is tight. Ill prabably have to wait till i get my tax money back to get another tractor, but that all depends on how much money. What part of sc are you in?

Be very careful taking a chance on a older yanmer tractor. I had a 2610d and realy liked it but I think I would have had problems if I would have worked it hard. Mine was a refurbished grey market yanmar that looked new but it was just made to look new.
I personally know of 2 close friends that bought grey market yanmars (non refurbished) both bought 22 hp yanmars (bought from different places) and both had to rebuild the engines after only a couple of hundred hour use. Both had cracked pistons and broken rings. I know of another friend that bought a grey market yanmar and is having transmission problems as well. This is not to say the yanmars are bad machines but they do have there share of problems. I would in no way pay 8k-9k for a grey market yanmar that is 1970s technology. If you can find a yanmar for less than 4k then I might take a chance on it.

That's you..,. There are many that will & do... Just because your friend got screwed on a V.N recon doesn't mean all yanmars are junk tractors

So why did you buy a VN Recon, now on here complaining after you probably were warned about them by the people on this board before you bought it.
How do they know they were "non refurbished"? and ANY tractor will only last as long as the owner takes care of it. I will say that 80% of issues with any piece of equipment is due to owner neglect or not knowing how to use it. I agree that 8-9k is to expensive.
Ken Cunningham, I am near Rock Hill, SC. I have a YM2001 and as of yesterday a YM2210. I love the powershift of the YM2210, but it feels dated compared to my YM2001. I DEF. think the 2 cyl sounds better then the 3 cyl.
I don't need 2 tractors, but why not?? lol I plan to use both a few months and determine which to keep then sell the other. I think i'll have a hard time parting with either.
