Dave, I have a couple more questions. How long are your teeth, and what material are they made from? Secondly, does anyone have a source for a PTO shaft with slip clutch? I have priced one out locally,seems pricey at over $500, looking for other ideas. I have all the pieces for my power rake build except the pto shaft.

Very nice. I can already see a hydraulic motor set up in the works for one I would like to build. Did you use carbide for the teeth?

Nah, I used steel teeth....thought about it but the Cost/Reward just didnt pencil out for me...I figured if I wore these 2" nubs out chances are I've done EVERY Project I wanted to do and done every yard in the town as well...so she'd be "Paid for" to the point I could go out and buy a "genuine harley" drum with carbide nubs...ORRR...Seeing as how i built the whole bleepin thing myself in the first place, just welding up new nubs on the drum would be a simple little "maintenance" chore :D

Teeth are 2" long, Steel...

PTO Shaft with slip clutch....TSC Has one labeled as a "Tiller shaft" for 219 or so...
I got the clutch itself from Agrisupply...because I used an "industrial" gearbox it didnt have a splined input shaft...Industry uses Keyways... so I had to buy a smooth bore "generic" clutch and have the female side broached for the keyway and then buy the Yoke type "input plate" because I couldnt find an off the shelf clutch which would work...the driveshaft itself came from eBay... Total cost of my driveshaft with clutch, etc.. was $185.00 and I have a "lefotver" smooth 1 3/8" male input plate to sell on eBay shortly...

I am impressed. I do a lot of "hobby" welding and fabricating, but I don't think I have the ability to do what you did. Outstanding !

Since you seem to enjoy torturing yourself, make up a whole new drum so you'll have a ready spare :)
