So the better and cheaper solution was to buy the 40 amp alternator, wire and switches and then modify the ROPS and fender? I'm sure you feel your idea was best for your purposes but I wouldn't want that setup.

No, the rear lights were the original set up...lights and drilled two holes with a switch...... Drilling two holes in the hinge portion of the rops is not wat I call modifing...although I'm sure the rops police would...
the alternator was for the forward lights and the cab heater, when my enclosure is finished...

That's about right. My local dealer had it on the shelf so I got to pay sales tax instead of shipping.

In past applications I used a thin piece of innertube. But eventually even that wears thru,, and gets the paint, so after that I stopped making the effort and touch up when needed..
Anyone purchase just the metal bracket and u-bolt from this kit? I really like the idea of using LED lamps so I don't draw on the alternator much.
In the past I've mounted a dual-beam Hella worklamp, which has been great (wired with a relay into the turn-signal circuit, so I could retain the factory switch - the turn signals have no real use for me).
This looks like a nice kit.
