UL says you can't regulate the temp of the oil.......yes you can.....with a regulator at the tank. You get the temp of the oil to I believe 350 degrees F and watch your thermometer.
The temp will reduce when the bird is put into the pot.
watch it and REGULATE.
My pot has oil level lines for the size turkey your cooking to keep you from over filling.
The main key is to have a brain and use it!!!

Heck taking a bath is dangerous......people need to use the brain in that head!!!!!

Fried Turkey is the best!!!!
And you want something good......when you get finished with that big bird.......put some chicken in there until it floats.......awesome!!!
I hear Fried Steak is good as well........peanut oil is just good!!
And I do reuse the oil several times......it's peanut oil.....natural ,biodegradable.....

I love statistics

So if 17 houses burn down due to turkey friars on thanksgiving, how many go up from candles at the dining room table, grocery bags left on the stove, christmas lights getting to warm, just plain old stupid oven fires from not cleaning up...

Frying turkeys is a thinking persons food. if you are drunk or stupid best call Honeybaked and have them deliver. Otherwise it is some of the best turkey you can have...

Yes, stats may be in your favor showing the risk to be low. However, when YOUR HOUSE is in flames that is 100 %. What part of the bell curve are you on? Be careful!

And when your one of the 317 people that died from taking a bath in the U.S. in 2004 then what percentage are you??
Just look at Japan!
3,429 deaths taking a bath in Japan in 2004!!

The videos were good but they showed when people were stupid in using the equipment what could happen.
Now anyone that has fried fish or other things outside using a high temp propane cooker with very hot grease knows or has had a flare up.
Watch your equipment while it's on. And be prepared to react......simple......and enjoy the meal......

We do one every Thanksgiving, lots quicker than one in the oven during hunting season. My fryer pot has an aluminum insert with a long upside u shaped piece that the turkey slides down over and a long aluminum hook to grab the u piece to pull it in and out of the grease with. We set up on a non-flammable area near the barn with an extinquisher located about 10 feet away. With the right clothing and welding gloves for protection, it sure makes a tasty bird! Stay smart and stay safe!

Yeah,
experience is a heck of a teacher. We had a local family years ago that set their garage on fire Thanksgiving day. Made us think things thru a bit more. Usually I am learning the hard way at my own expense....
