SteveC.....Will you build me one that's perfect.?? That's exactly what I am looking for. UPS ships to my door.

If you do not have a HF close its not worth ordering them. The postage will kill you.

Actually HF has very reasonable shipping rates unless it is a freight item. It is $11.99 or LESS to any location in the lower 48.

sorry I have been doing it wrong for 40 years.....that is probably why I am unemployed...nobody need anything that is perfect:cool::cool:

It would probably cost around $30 to build a cart for your counterweight that would stand up to a little unintended abuse. Since my barn/tool shed burned down and roasted a 45 year accumulation of tools, melted the south end of my house and I discovered that I was way under insured I won't be able to get to that project in the near future. My welder and chop saw were in there.:eek::eek:

I wish I had a broken castor wheel as my biggest problem.:D:D:D:D:D

The third picture is the base of my 14 inch chop saw and radial arm saw...sucks to be me...

It was a lack of understanding on my part. I bought the place as a retirement home/project to downsize from my big house. I just called an insurance company and told them I wanted insurance. Without having additional coverage all my out buildings and fences were insured for 19% of the value of the house. They call these "apertinant structures". The house I bought was/is a fixer upper. It had no insulation in the front half, and it had been struck by lightling hard enough that it melted a lot of the wiring in the house, it also melted holes in the cast iron drain pipe and the galvanized metal water pipes. It had no heating system or plumbing system because the people I bought it from are Amish and they removed most of it.

The insurance guy didn't know exactly what to do with it, the barn was actually worth more than the house. I told him I was going to bring the house up to date with new windows, insulation, new wiring a heating system and of course plumbing. He estimated that it would be worth about $120k with those improvements, so that is what he insured it for. It seemed logical at the time.:cool:

I jacked up the roof about 5 inches and did a lot of strucural repairs, moved some walls, added some beams, installed all new windows, super insulated the walls and put in a new 200 amp electrical service, all new wiring and drywall. Many of the things I needed to finish the house were in the barn. My kitchen cabinets, sinks, bathroom vanity, storm doors medicine cabinet and all the OSB for the new roof. My wife loves to cook and has just about every kitchen gizzy there it. Most of it was in the barn with the cabinets.

The adjuster looked at the barn and estimated the loss of the structure alone at $48. About twice the limits of my coverage, not counting the contents. The original barn was completely insulated and lined with OSB on the walls and ceiling. It was 36 x 56 with 10 foot side walls but since it was framed with scissors trusses it had 14 foot clear height in the center.

I had a 16 foot v hulled aluminum bass boat on a full roller trailer with 6 huge tackle boxes and an unknown number of rods and reels. It was turned into a puddle on the floor. It was only covered for $1000 under my policy. I had so busy with the house I had not used the boat in a year and I forgot about getting it insured seperately. It would cost about $20,000 to replace it. That isn't going to happen. The adjuster looked at the trailer and mentioned that it is a good thing that my boat wasn't in there. I pointed out that he was standing on it, second to last picture. In the before picture you can seem my new wire welder in the box just above the tank of the Kawasaki

That is a horrible sight.

Sorry for your loss.

Got my $41.99 cash back from tsc today. I ordered a $14 dolly from Northern Tool based on some that are happy with them. We'll see.

Great, I hope it works out for you. $42 is a lot of money to pay for something that doesn't work.

I saw some dollys at Menards today for $20 that looked like the would work. They were all wood construction but had good looking castors on them.:)

It was early this summer. It set my house remodeling back about 8 months. I did the demolition and clean up myself because since I am unemployed I have more time than money. I hauled about 5,000 lbs of steel to the scrap yard, and 600 lbs of aluminum that used to be my boat, air compressor and slide in truck tool box. I also rebuilt the south end of my house mhyself while I was having a new pole barn built as a cost saving measure. Four new windows and siding. I was very lucky, the fireman said if they had got there 5 minutes later the house would have been gone also. It actually scorched the OSB that was under the vinyl siding, and it was smoking by the time they got the hoses out. I had an old basement/foundation a couple hundred feet from the barn in one of my fields that I burried all the ashes in. I probably had 30 cubic yards of that stuff.

Now I have a nice new barn, but very little to put in it. I spent 40 years filling up the other one, but since I am 60 I don't think that is any longer an option. I will just have to fluff up what I have left.

This is what it looks like now. The fence still needs some work, maybee next year....
