Lets put one wheel on a magic treadmill and see if the split brakes work!
as my foot is too small to use the HST and Brake at the same time.
Partly explains why it is so easy for you to keep getting your foot in your mouth!
You still didn't explain how it is, in your own words, . Let's face it Patrick. It is not a great placement. It is a sucky placement with a capital S.![]()
... for Pete's sake, if people are happy with their brakes on the same side as the HST, let them be happy. How are any of the avid cutting brake users harmed by the mere fact that there are folks out there who don't care to participate. It is not a matter of ignorance is bliss. Some folks just don't do what others do and that shouldn't stir up those others into some religious zeal frenzy to ensure lock step compliance with the others perception of the one true and holy path to tractoring nirvana.

Umm, Let's not forget this thread was started by a former Kub owner who was less than satisfied with their peddle configuration, is in the market for a new machine and sounds like he may be changing brands because of it.
Not a bunch of Goose stepping followers that are trying to convert others to buy their brand. Just owners who have stated that it's important enough to them that it affected their buying decision.
I personally don't want everyone going out to buy my brand, that would drive the prices up. I'm glad there is such a market for those one leggers.

i made the kubotiat comment . it was me . if everyone had your attitude patrick this tread would have died long ago . unfortunatly theres plenty of folks that came in and totally slamed the idea of turn brakes as being obselete . or not needed or they would destroy your tractor or ............. you get the point. im ok with people not using turn brakes just dont be telling me im crazy for needing and using mine . i think we can all agree that if you plane on using them they should be on the left.
.... the problem with brakes and hydro on the same side is that the operator has to use their toe to hold/release the brake while using their heal to operate the appropriate hydro pedal. My questions is are hydro tractors different than hydro mowers in that will the tractor hold a hill without use of the brake?
