I accidentally bought a cat 1 box blade for my IH 826.
How can I get this thing to fit my tractor?

They have sleeves that compensate for the difference in diameters.
Do you run out of adjustment in the lower arms? I'm not familiar with the IH 826 3PH arrangement but every tractor I've owned has lower arms that will adjust from quite narrow to wide enough to hit the tires.
I've never seen longer lower pins that would reach several inches. The forces would quite high on the end of the pins - especially with a box blade.
If there is no other solution, then cutting, welding, and thus modifying the pin mount would seem to be the best bet. Then you could mount Cat 2 pins on the lower arms. Reaming out the top link attachment point would take care of that as well.
If complete desperation takes over you can buy a Cat 2 drawbar from TSC for around $50 and weld it on.
The tractor has a two point hitch with 3pt conversion, but they don't go too close because the gearbox is in the way.
I would have to agree with those posts above that recommend taking it back and getting the correct box blade. The IH 826 is the range of 90 to 100 hp and would probably destroy a box designed for a CAT 1 hitch. BTW, the 826 is a great tractor, wish I had one...

I bought it used for $100....
I don't really want to take it back. I'll do some of the other stuff mentioned.
It's actually 61 drawbar HP.
I was actually referring to the PTO hp, which is how tractors of that size are typically rated. Keep in mind that 61 drawbar hp may not sound like a lot but this is a heavy tractor and weight equals traction which is something most utility tractors are short on. I am speaking from experiance with this size tractor, I grew up on a farm and have driven an IH 856 (just a hair larger than your 826) many, many hours. I assure you, if not used carefully, you will damage that box. That being said, having only paid $100 for it you really don't have much to loose so go for it. If you are careful with it and use it for what it is intended you may well be fine. Good luck!
