Good advice for those who have a penchant for poor decision making.:D As mow4fun has demonstrated, the trailer generally needs to be longer than the gear you intend to haul. Brilliant stuff, God we're smart.:)

Ok, so what if the RB was hanging out a bit while trailering??? :D

1*Should I go with wood or metal flooring?
2*I am thinking 6x10 Utility/Landscaping trailer and see they are rated about 2500lbs to 3000lbs,
3* is that enough?
4*Should I consider brakes, I have a 2010 Honda Pilot to toe with and not sure if it even can handle the brakes?
5*I probably use it once or twice a year, so I am looking for something to make do but also be safe with.
1*Wood.
2*A land scape trailer is to light duty to handle a BX.
You need at least a 7000 pound rated 2 axle traler with brakes on all 4 wheels.
3*No not at all.
4*See #2
I'm looking for a 1 ton SRW truck to tow my BXs with.
5*I am not impressed with such reasoning as it only takes one accident that can happen any time.

6*For the weight of your tractor a 2500 to 3000lb trailer seems to be enough.
Brakes are well worth the extra money.
7*Saves wear and tear on the towing vehicle and the driver too.
6*I don't think so.
7* The main thing is they could save your or sombody elses life.
If it don't have brakes, don't buy it.

I don't have brakes on my trailer and have transported BX's, F, B and an L on it but
8*I don't do it often.
8*If it happens once that's 2 often no matter how often you use it.

9*I use a single axle 6x12 Carry On trailer most of the time for my BX though I have a couple of dual axle sixteen footers and a car hauler.
9*You ought to be using the 16 footers.

Almost forgot.
10*My nephew has a BX2360 and uses my 16' dual axle trailer to pull his and he has a Toyota SUV.
11*Any vehicle can work .
10*A 16 footer with no brakes pullde by a Toyota suv EEK.
11*And still be unsafe

I am looking at two currenly and both are single axle: 6x10 and 6x11.
12*Maybe I hould just go new??
12* or better yet the right trailer.

For my Massey GC2600, which I figured I might trailer a few times a year, I was in the same predicament. Single or double axle, aluminum or steel. Steel was quickly ruled out, I've yet seen one after a few years which didn't look like a bucket of rust. I ended up with all all aluminum landscape/utility 6x12 (aluminum floor as well) with a single 3,000 pound axle. The trailer tare is only 600 pounds so can carry about the same as a 3500# axle steel trailer and much easier to move around the yard by hand if need be (the same size steel trailer weighs in at around 1100#'s). I worried a little about the floor getting banged up with rocks but think I'll get a rubber mat for it which will help with that.
13*My tractor with loader weighs around 2100#, on the trailer the tires are barely deflecting and it tows excellent plus there's room for more weight such as my boxblade or mower deck.
13*Too much weight not enough trailer.

Maybe I should just give up on getting an 18 x 8 equipment traler and a 1 ton SRW drive pick up to haul my BXs with and go with a 6x10 single axle and just tow it with my Nisson Dodge D50 or Toyota import pick up.
Who all here thinks that would be a good idea?

Here are the specs on my SUV (Pilot):

Standard Towing (lb.) 4500
Maximum Towing (lb.) 4500
Standard Payload (lb.) 1552
Maximum Payload (lb.) 1552
Standard GVWR (lb.) 6096
Maximum GVWR (lb.) 6096

So, I guess the maximum I can two is 4500lbs which translates to about 3000lbs less the trailer weight. However, I really don't understand the payload comment? The SUV curb weight is 4500lbs.

I am learning a lot researching and thanks for all the info provided so far.

Makes sure you have trans cooler for you honda pilot otherwise you will be toasting the transmission in no time.

while towing conversations usually start with How much weight can I tow with xxx tow vehicle, another concern RV owners are all to familiar with is - How long a trailer can I tow with xxx vehicle? . This is just as important so you don't end up with the tail wagging the dog , last thing you want is a jackknife or rollover situation .
Though not gospel , I have always found this a good reference and it has kept me out of trouble.

David's RV Tips: How long?

Additionally , most exceed GAWR (Gross Axle weight Restricted)
or
GVWR ( net weight of the vehicle, plus the weight of passengers, fuel, cargo and any additional accessories). (GVWR - Weight of fully loaded vehicle = available payload for tongue weight) way before they exceed Max Tow or GCWR for their vehicles. With regards to Max tow I have always kept it at least under 10-15 % safety Buffer. I would hate to be responsible for an accident where someone was injured because the combination of both my vehicle and trailer was over-rated or overloaded, But that's just me. Again these are just guideline I have found that have helped me stay outta trouble.

I covered that scenario when I inserted "generally", nothing wrong with putting the loader bucket over the front a bit either. :)

lbrown- your statement

A land scape trailer is to light duty to handle a BX. landscape trailer too light??? sorry dont mean to say it  but you are full of baloney. May I ask where are your facts to support this?

I think we are aware that you are looking for a SRW truck, but the fact is that you been looking for so long now, I dont know If you just wish to have one or what? You need a trailer too to tow something with right ? :confused2:

Too much weight not enough trailer?? Sounds cute but total BS to that, the 12' trailer is plenty for those needs. I know overkill seems to be the name of the game when it comes to trailering but lets get real hear. A trailer rated for a payload of 2500# can haul 2100 pounds and in the case of the trailer I purchased it hauls the load beautifully.

Regarding your last paragraph, different needs require different tools. I presume you just want to brag about your belongings, congratulations you must be very proud.
