Buying Advice 3320 with a 485 BH

A simple rockshaft adjustment will resolve ........ see this thread http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/...g-3-ph-485-backhoe.html?highlight=485+backhoe

Does this adjustment work for the 3320? I've tried it and no-go, but maybe I'm doing something wrong. If any 3320 owners have a 48 BH and have been able to adjust the rockshaft, I'd love to hear how you did it.

My 3720 has the adjustment rod on the left lift arm like my 4320. I'd be surprised if the 3320 is not the same, but ......... let's hear it from the 3320 folks that have a backhoe.

I'm with you on the similarities - it's the same on my JD 110... but - there are always exceptions to the rule.

Here's a couple of pictures to make the adjustment.

Loosen both nuts , run engine and make rockshaft raise a little higher.

I did mine in Jan '08 right after I got the 447 installed by dealer, I couldn't get it off via rockshaft only. Can now.

You may need to bump up your relief valve. My dealer did this when they installed my power beyond for my 448. I think it was set at 2400 and they moved it to around 3k.

I had very similar experience. The 3320 rockshaft adjustment looks just like a 3720 rockshaft adjustment. I only had to turn mine 1/4 turn to get the two top pins in. The dealer cautioned about adjusting too far as damage could occur at the end of the stroke.

Superexcellent - I can hardly wait to drop the BH to try it. Thanks!

Thanks Matt,
I had the 46 on my last tractor that my nephew is taking. I liked it and I do a fruit orchard so it was used a lot for planting and moving trees. It was a little bit of a pain to put on and take off because it had the under carriage. Do the 3320 hoes run off the 3PH? I have the I-match. Would you know if that make it easier or harder?

Best,
rob
Rob, Why are you getting rid of the 2320?

i like the two series but I want more power in the BH and the loader. The three series has about 1000 lbs more lift and digging force. I've just gone as far as i could with the two series.
Sometime we need to bury, or lift a large animal or move a round bale or rock and the two's aren't up to the task. I love them for size so it's a mixed blessing. I just looked at the three's and they're not much bigger but a lot more carrying ability. They also dig deeper.

I wanted a 3000 series, didn't need it just wanted it. Reality set back in. The power difference of the 2320 over my old 650 is night and day. Good luck with your new one.

I hear you Gizmo. I love the two series, small, powerful and nimble. My friend recently got a used 990 that I had the opportunity to try out. The loader really was substantial. I pull stumps and move heavy stuff around and I found myself constantly needing more loader power.
The thing about the three series is that it's not that much bigger than the two series. If you look at the specs the thing that will pop out is how much more power the three's have from the loader to the rockshaft.
One of the things i also did was go to the 485 BH because the 375 has thesame power as the 46 ,just greater range and I wanted the stump power.
Will I miss some of the things I loved about the 2720? Sure, but overall I think I made the right decision at least I'll know in a couple of months!
