Kubota or Kioti

I just want to make sure the original poster gets correct information...

If you are going to correct someone else then you should at least make sure you get it right yourself, after all you provided a link to the information. BX, B, and L tractors (except BX24 and BX25) have a 24 month warranty with a 36 month power train warranty. Only the BX24 and BX25 and ZTMs have anything listed about private homeowner having a 2 year over a 1 year warranty. Kubota's TLB tractors come with a 1 year over all and a 2 year drivetrain warranty.

As far as Kioti goes that 4 year warranty is only for the drivetrain. The over all warranty is 2 years, like most of Kubota's equipment. Both companies offer the same warranty when it comes to the FEL and other implements.

So yes the Kioti has an extra year on the powertrain and unlimited hours vs 1500 with the Kubota.

For me Kubota over Kioti was simple. Every Kubota dealership around me has been in business for longer than I can remember, 30 years plus. Kioti has had three different dealers over the last 3 years and the latest one is a rental place that just opened up in a crowded rental market, I would like to see if they stick around for a few years before saying they will be a long term dealer. A second rental company just added Kioti recently about 20 miles from me in the other direction. The next closest dealer is in a different state 4 hours away.

On the other hand I can get to 5 different Kubota dealers in the same amount of time (less than an hour) as I can get to the two Kioti dealers. Four of them Kubota is the main thing they sell, the other is a rental company that just started handling BC. A quick couple of calls and I should be able to find any part I need or find an experienced mechanic.

That's true for me too. Actually just one call and two or three days later the part arrives via UPS and I didn't need to drive even ten miles.

I appreciate that a good dealer nearby is an advantage but how much is it worth? For me a more powerful Kioti cost $6000 less than the equivalent Kubota so I decided I could live with UPS.

The difference could be a weekend. If something was to break on a Thursday evening or a Saturday morning, it's happen to me more than once, and the next day or that afternoon I can have the part. What's a weekend worth? Sometimes not much but other times when plans are made it could be real costly.

For my purposes, I can only use the tractor on weekends so having a week for parts to show up is no biggie. I would agree that for someone using the machine daily or commercially one day parts pick up would be important. For Kioti tractors, local Bobcat dealers can provide most any part so that is another option even if your dealer is remote.

He bought his B7610 several years ago. Before Kioti went to the 48hr warranty. I think that explains his comment.

Well if something ever breaks on my tractor (knock on wood - 400hrs -4yrs and no problems), I'd rather deal with waiting a few days for a part then go on for a lifetime knowing I spent $4k or more for the equivalent tractor with a shorter warranty, less capabilities and less standard options just because the dealer was closer...

Fair enough. But you did leave out some key that could leave someone to believe that the Kioti had twice the warranty that Kubota has and the commercial part wasn't quite true. I would also like to point out that the 1500 hours Kubota give you with it's powertrain warranty would take you 10 years at your present rate before you would reach it.

Don't get me wrong I thought the Kioti looked like a nice tractor, I don't know anyone personally who has one though.

Here's all the reasons why I went with Kubota. I looked at the Kioti DK45 HST. The quote I was given was good. It was about the same price as Barlows for the GL4240. It's hard to compare because I'm getting a front mount blower, something I don't see listed on Kioti's website, and the price included the blower and the mid mount PTO for it. I don't have the exact Kioti quote in front of me but I'm guessing they were with in $1000 of each other.

I want the mid PTO powered front blower because I plan on getting a Herd PTO sander for the rear but could of worked around it. The FEL lifts higher on the Kubota, the main reason why I went with the 4240 over the smaller Kubotas (since they have a smaller loader). If you look at my avitar you'll see my 1977 IHC Loadstar. I want as high as I can get without going too large of a tractor to get over the sides. When you add it all up the Kubota was a better option for me.

If it was $6k difference, I would have went with a Kioti but it wasn't/

I've read most of, if not all of that Cadillac of tractor's thread and laugh. Why would someone want to know which is the best of the best? Shouldn't it be a case of choose the tractor that best fits your needs? That sounds like a 'I want to impress my neighbors so help me choose' type of thread.

I didn't read that Cadillac thread for exactly that reason. There are legitimate debates about features and prices but "best" is a moving target. What's best for me might be a reject for someone else.
