Henri,

When it starts to slow down, let up on the gas pedal...You'll hear the RPM's increase when you find the right spot, it won't speed up much though....Nature of the beast.

As far as wiring, I'd just add new if you're going with aftermarket lights etc. Kubota has limits on the alternator output, so they don't give free space in the fuse block. I used fusable links hooked directly to the battery then then ran through switches for my overhead lights and plow actuator. Worked fine.

I've tried that, but I did not slow to a stop. Perhaps I'll try that. This hill coming up is quite steep. Folks with 4WD anything could not get up the hill with 2-3" of snow on it.... Secret there - don't go down if snow is likely.;)...

I was planning to use the 'slots' for the bed light or the front worklights. But perhaps I'm better off getting a fuse panel, and main fuse it from the battery, then feed to individual fused circuits. I'll keep you posted..
Here's a good RTV forum as well

Thanks, joined up today..:D..
I can't help you on wiring, I ordered a shop manual for mine but it hasn't arrived yet.
Do you have a 500 also?

Thanks to you both..... Appreciate the 'schooling'.....

Yes I bought a 500 camo last March.:D
I tried 'valiantly' with ours to get camo..... but the 'banker' Annie would not 'grant' the loan...... Oh well....... Let me know when you get your manual if there is a wiring diagram.....
Thx,
Henri

I'll let you know. Are you just looking for a tap for switched power?

Henri,

You don't need to come to a stop. Mainly in high range, going up hill you will notice the rpm's starting to drop. When that happens slowly let up on the gas pedal until the rpm's increase.

DD,
Yes, and also very curious about the various 'plugs/connectors' that are unused within the wiring harness that I have seen so far. Two under the hood, both I presume are possibly for the speedo, and also the work lights. and two under the seat, one large one (10 or so connectors in the plug) and another with 3 that looks like it has some sort of terminator plugged into it. I'm guessing there are more, I've not yet been underneath yet. We just moved and are still unpacking boxes...

BTW how did your winch install go? Which one, and where did you get a good price on yours?

Timswi,
I did do that, but did not notice the increase, I'll give that another try today....

The winch install went great, that actually uses one of the open pin locations on a plug under the hood. I got my winch as an added bonus in my initial purchase along with the plastic roof. There were several mis-communications during the transaction that the dealer made right for me and in the end I was very pleased. The winch I have is the factory Kubota kit that includes a Warn 2500 lb winch for the 500, I can't tell you how well it works because I still haven't needed it
