Looking at a used 2007 CK20- good deal?

Perhaps RPMWFO will clarify? You may be quite right, Dmace, just saying how many read it. Such things are often the case. You read it as including the backhoe, while others, in seeing it not specifically mentioned again, read it as tractor, as in tractor only, plus the two mentioned implements. Shrug. No big deal.
He also doesn't "specifically mention" the front end loader or tires. Maybe it doesn't come with those either...

I read it the same as BP. If it doesn't include the backhoe then it's way too much. If it does, then it's a good deal. The way it was worded obviously wasn't clear. But, there's no need to be a wiseguy about it.

And if the OP doesn't want the backhoe, and it is indeed included, the TYM or a new tractor would be a better option than buying an expensive attachment he doesn't need or want.

Ok, I know everyone reads things differently, the way I read the first post is it comes with the backhoe. If it does, then 14,500 is a good deal.

Sorry about the slow response.

The 2007 CK20 deal includes the following:
CK20 Gear Tractor with 230 hrs. with 1 year remaining on drivertrain warranty
Backhoe
FEL
Loaded industrial tires
Brushcutter-new
rear blade-new

Dealer wants $14,500.

Heading over tomorrow to look at the tractor and try to negotiate a better deal. I'll look for cracking on the loader.

So, you get a backhoe on the CK20 while giving up HST, more HP, a QC loader, and a 5 year warranty that come on the TYM. Tough call. As long as you have uses for the backhoe, that might be the better deal. Backhoes sure are handy. Either would suit you fine.

I just don't like that dealer said the Kioti would outwork the TYM. I guess it's to be expected that he would tout the one he sells. But, it's downright missleading. I see no basis in the specs that would support such a claim. Actually quite the contrary: more hp and HST would make the TYM to be a slightly more efficient workhorse. The QC loader could also be a plus if you had a need to change out to forks, grapple, or other front mount implement.

If the loader is cracked on the CK20...... well the OP will just have to decide if that's acceptable or not.

I'll offer $13.5K and see if he goes for it. Are the hours high or average? Anything I should look for on a 2007?

I may have him quote a new one setup the same way. What would be a good price on a new CK20 with the same options? At least I would get a warranty.

A few responses in the general forum for pricing and comparisons thought the used price was too high. From what I have found while shopping around here, the price doesn't seem too bad. Not as many CUT users in Colorado along the front range.

I'm not too concerned about weight. I would rather have a heavier small tractor for any dirt work than a lighter one. We don't get much rain and all of the ground around here is clay and shale. I've driven my 3/4 ton Dodge all over the property dry and wet with no problems and it weighs 8000lbs unloaded. With the last load of sand in the back it weighed 11,500 with no problems in the same places I would be mowing and working.

Sounds waaaay high to me. I'm not allowed to post links here, but you can find a lot of little Kioti tractors with a lot less hours and more power for thousands less. I wouldn't consider anything over 12k for that Kioti. With your projects in mind, keep in mind that you're looking at a tractor that has less power than the average lawn mower anymore. People like to brag that they are heavy too. Low power and more weight isn't appealing to me. I see an ad for a DK35 with 95 hours and FEL for a lower price than your dealer is asking. That's why I think he's sky high; to the point I wouldn't even bother going back to someone trying to rip my head off that bad.

Might not be waaaay high. I got $12K as a trade in from my dealer for a four year old CK20 TLB with 200hrs when I upgraded to the DK40se. That was a few years ago and there have been price increases since (also a down economy though). I already had the price on the DK before getting an over the phone quote on the trade so it wasn't part of the new tractor pricing equation.

If you consider that Kubota BX23/24 mini TLBs get sold for $12-14K with a few years and couple hundred hours on them it doesn't seem that far off either. The Kubota's definitely have remarkable resale, especially the BX23/24 range but considering the added capabilities of a CK TLB the price doesn't look waaaay high. Maybe a biiiiit high though. I'd offer $12.5 and try to settle for $13 plus change assuming the dealer needs to make some profit.

You sound like those people that think they could put a 24hp B&S gas motor in a modern CUT and it would perform the same as a 24hp diesel motor. :mur:

I stand by my statement that this is a good deal, not a great deal but still a good deal.
