First, I think Deere is doing very well. I still see ads in my trade magazines looking for engineers.
Secondly, the factories must be going strong. I'm stillwaiting for my 3320 ordered in the middle of May.
Third, if Mahindra is #1 it wouldn't change which tractor I would own. If I couldn't get a Deere I'd get a Kubota (like the Deere ergonomics better, to each his own)
Forth, if they are selling them around here (there's a dealer about 5 miles away) none of the farmers I see or know are buying them. I haven't seen any. Mostly Deere, Kubota, MF, New Holland.
Fifth, number one in sales doesn't equate to the best. It might be the cheapest buy but cost you more in the end. Used Deere's are always in demand, no one I know is looking for a used Mahindra.
Good luck with your Mahindra but there's a good reason they want an association with Deere. You don't see Deere talking about Mahindra. They don't have to.
I can walk into a Deere dealership and order a part for a 30 year old riding mower. Two days later the part is here, think about what that's worth!

McDonalds sells billions and billions of burgers, I think everyone would agree there are much better burgers out there.....
quality has nothing to do with the topic...there are a lot of former (disgruntled) Deere owners like any other brand...
If one manufacturer was that much better than the others there would be much less room (market) for competitors...
The link below shows JD was #1 in the UK in 2003-2005, my guess is they are also #1 in US sales.
