I've used super glue many times to repair these ball joint boots and drive shaft boots on front wheel drive cars. Take the boot off and get the broken edges super clean. I use brake clean on a rag. Then super glue the broken edges together. Lasts a long time.
If you can get a new one that's best.
One caution to those who are wrapping the joint with another material - If your wrap leaks and water gets into the joint this will cause rust over time. Probably worse than leaving the boot torn.
