2305 diverter valve slop

If you click the link to that thread on another forum, up a few posts, there's a PDF in there that contains drawings of the whole assembly.

Found it on the jdparts under alphabetic listing "diverter valve" too.

Yes, I have seen the JDParts drawings, I wanted to see real pictures of one installed...

I would too. :)

Can someone post a picture please? Is there a linkage to the diverter valve?

Hey Kenny,

I'll try to remember to take a picture of mine installed asap. There is no linkage. It's just a hydraulic valve bolted to the frame such that the actuator lever can poke through the fender (hole must be drilled at time of installation). Then, the hydraulic hoses are simply run back and forth to the hydraulic coupler bank, zip-tied in various locations.

I think the hydraulic valve itself is either junk or maybe I just got a defective one.

BTW, I have changed my anti-diverter valve stance since adding my pallet forks to my repertoire. I use the forks all the time and, since it is summer, the deck is underneath for the most part. However, when I mow, I do remove the loader so the valve blow by is not a factor. It would be comical to try mowing with pallet forks on the front of the loader. My trees would all be pin cushions!

Thanks Chris, I guess since there is no linkage then it may be a case of "source these valves from the lowest bidder" on JD's part...That's a shame.

There is a picture of it in this old post of mine from when I installed my Power Beyond kit, but the valve has been unbolted and is hanging down. Still, you can see the valve body, the hoses, and you can make out the hole it bolts to on the frame if you look for the clean spot...

I'll get one of it in its installed position when I can.

Cool. Is it possible that the fender (where the hole is drilled) is interfering or not letting the spool travel it's full throw?

I don't mean to throw out stupid questions, just trying to get a handle on the problem. Diverter valves are pretty simple devices-just not a lot to go wrong with them...

No, you can feel it positively reach its travel limits. I suspect it's just a bad o-ring or something. I know these are very simple devices and this shouldn't be an issue. Someday when I have nothing else to do, I'll pull it apart and have a look see.

At present, it's just an "annoyance" and hasn't been elevated to a full blown "aggravation" yet. If it reaches the level of "hindrance", well, then it'll get dealt with right away.

Here are some pictures of the diverter valve I managed to squeak out as my 2305 was going on vacation to my pop's house for a couple of days. It was really hard to get a good angle.
