I went to Empire Farm Days in NY yesterday and as always there's a massive NH presence there... Well - it just so happens they have had some of their "new" tractors on display... the LS rebranded, repainted, whatever you want to call them tractors on out...
As a person who is proud of my TC45DA - I kinda feel like I got the wind knocked out of me from a brand perspective. Honestly - we were more impressed with some of the Mahindria innovations and the Massey tractors than these new darker blue pained LS jobbies. I know NH will be around selling big iron for a long time to come but I have to say - it sure feels like they are done operating in the compact tractor space for the future. Although I'm nowhere NEAR thinking about buying - if I was - I don't think the "new blue" would make it past the first round of tire kicking and knob pulling.
Wonder what others have seen and think.

Interesting, went to the county fair here, and the "Big three" (All whom have a presence in this area) didn't show at all, only Mahindra, Massey, and Cub Cadet were there.

Drove by the local NH dealer today and they only had a smattering of their older machines on the lot.

so if they are on display are they anywhere to be found on the NH web sites? Also will the red versions of these be coming too?

Looks like they just painted them all orange----getting ready for the big split at the end of the year -------go fiat industrial????!!!!! or is that Kubota Industrial????

I think this is good news for those of us with Farmtrac/Montana/McTractor branded LS machines. I didn't figure NH to jump on the Korean import bandwagon, but the all mighty dollar apparently persuaded them.

Is it THIS?

ICK!!! They're removing the signature Boomer look that made me turn into their yard in the first place.

From the numbers (market share percentages) I have seen over the last several years, NH's market share in CUTs has consistently degraded. Deere, Kubota, Mahindra and to a small extent Kioti (these numbers lag quite a bit and the last ones I saw did not include Bobcat) have all gained market share at the expense of NH. I have heard several opinions as to "why" with the most common being pricing compared to the rest of the industry.

Obviously NH had to do something as the Shibura designed models were not cutting it. I am not bashing NH here at all - if your lineup is losing ground to the competition - something needs to be done. NH would not make a change of this magnitude if they felt they could continue solely with Shibura, as they have had a mutually beneficial realtionship for a very long time. Taking all this into account, I would expect this new lineup of Boomers to be very attractively priced.

We are already seeing some of this with Deere and Yanmar, and I personally think that relationship will continue to wind down as Deere is bringing more and more of the SCUT and small frame CUT manufacturing in house. (see the Deere designed and manufactured standard HST in the 3E Series) We already know that the 2305 (designed and built almost completely by Yanmar) and the 2x20 series (designed by Deere and pretty much built by Yanmar) will be replaced by all new tractors very soon and while I love the Yanmar engines I would also like to see more "Deere" content in the rest of the tractors, like the 3E, 3x20's and 4x20's.

Now there is a certain Kub/NH dealer on here who will probably discount everything I just said, probably along the lines of Kub and NH marketshare never being higher, Deere continuing to lose marketshare, etc - but maybe not, he is usually a pretty straight shooter... Don't prove me wrong now! :)

No way man. I'm right with you. The Korean LS compacts are a HUGE step backwards for CNH. The product is not the same quality tractor that we've had. Its going to cause some problems for us since anyone with a TC who wants to upgrade won't ever consider one of these. We where always under the impression that they where not profiting off that business even with their inflated pricing. I do see the sense if this though, what they where doing was not working, it was time for change.

Now what will be intersting to me is if/when we will see the TC compacts sold to a different company. I am not sure that CNH owns the engineering & tooling on those tractors.
