Backhoe 485 Backhoe removal & hook up

Thanks for all the information ! You guys are spot on !

I forgot to mention that the 3pt was out of adjustment so I can't pick it up high enough to get the pins in so I've been trying to use the stablizer arms/etc. to get it up high enough.

Sounds like once I get it adjusted I will have no more problems.

thanks,
~S

I have a 4520 with the 485 backhoe, when new, it took forever to attach and take off. The dealer had all kinds of ideas, none of them were right and it was all because it was not set up right. After watching the Deere video on how fast and easy it was put on and remove, we took it back. I got my dealer to watch the video as well and then they went to work. After a day of making adjustments I can now connect and disconnect the 485 in about two minutes and the 485 sits on it's frame with no support. So to you that are having troubles, watch the Deere video on their web site and then make your dealer make the necessary adjustment for it really is a piece of cake and you DO NOT need any help from the 485 arms or supports to do the job.

I played with installing and removing the 485 and the 3PH doesn't lift it high enough to engage the two locking pins. I see the adjustment but I've heard you can damage the 3PH if you adjust it too far so I'm reluctant to do it.
Right now I'm using the stabilizer arms to install the BH, takes me about 10 minutes to get it on this way.

I can see where pin 14 can be over extended and cause problems, also part 12 can hit the front of the housing if the adjustment is wrong.

Can you send a link to the video, I was unable to find it on the deere web site. Thanks.
