Tractor
Looking...
I am beginning my search for a tractor after purchasing a house that will require something to handle the following:

-Lot is 3 very level acres covered in weeds/wildflowers which will need to be mowed.
-Will need to blow/move snow in driveway that is approximately 2500 sq. ft.
-Also, just found out that the road into our development is not plowed by an HOA as there are only two houses in the development, so I may need to handle that as well. Road in is approximately 1/3 mile, not sure how wide, will measure tonight.
-I've never ran a tractor before.
-Would like to build a fence, plant trees, cover a septic system, bury a propane tank, landscape yard, and possibly have a little fun.

There is a Kubota dealer a few miles from the place. Walked in to look around and got the following recomendations and prices.

1st Recomendation-B2620 w/FEL(50inch bucket)-$15,200
2nd Recomendation-B3200 w/FEL(60inch bucket)-$16,500
3rd Recomendation-BX2360 w/FEL(48inch bucket)-12,350

He also quoted front mount snowblowers with hyd chute control.

63 inch $4,920
51 inch $4,620
50 inch $3,910

This all seems like overkill to me at this point coming from a 1/4 acre lot in a different city where we got snow 4 times a year and stuck around for 24 hours. This location is supposed to have a pretty snowy winter, but I also don't want to make a knee jerk decision based on weather forecasts. What I think I understand is, the bigger the tractor the quicker the job gets done. I guess I'd rather spend 30 minutes blowing snow compared to 60 and have the extra time for other warmer things.

Apologize for the novel on my first post, but would like to make an educated and wise decision. Thanks for any input you may have.

Any of those 3 tractors would handle your chores. My first tractor was a new 2005 Kubota B7510HST with the LA302 FEL (4-ft wide bucket, 800 lb lift). I used it for the first 3 years on my 10 acre place (flat pasture) during the house construction for installing the landscaping, keeping the weeds mowed with a 4-ft wide King Kutter brush hog and for general material handling. Paid $12600 plus tax.

Thanks for the info. I looked at the road into the house and it's more like 300 yards, give or take a few. This is probably a question for the dealer, but can you easily remove a front mount snowblower and put the FEL back on?

That is a tough call, as flusher points out, any of them will do the job. The question is which will do it better and possibly cheaper.

I love the BX and haven't found a use where the B is better on my property, but if you are going to be maintaining quite a bit of road on a regular basis, I would probably go with the B2620. Some people report an annoying vibration on the B3200.
