Buying Advice New JD models

I noticed the hood has a rib down the center too. What do you think about that! HA

:)

Don't mind the rib...just not a fan of hood ornaments. :)

On another note. I wonder why JD reverted back to a loader with straight booms instead of rounded/curved. Is there a mechanical advantage? With all the new features it looks like they took a step back in looks with the new loader (IMO). It's not a big deal, but I thought the curved boom looked better. Bottom line though is we are getting increased capacity.

A few posts back some of you were talking about the hitch being limited cat 1. John deere always stated this for the 2210 and 2305, but Kubota doesn't in the latest specs that I have seen. That leads me to think that the Kubota's (BX Series) is not a limited cat 1. Anyone know anything about this.

Speaking of Kubota's, this JD seems to be setting a new standard with the added features and also matches the BX2660 in HP. If they are close in price I can't see how anyone would get orange unless they liked the toe/heel hydro pedals better and that danged loader joystick sticking up on the side of it. I personally hate both of those things about Kubota, but I like my money too. However, over the many years I would own it, it would probably be worth some extra money to me to get what I want. Especailly on a purchase like this.

Someone who knows.... Does the 2320 have more loader lift capacity than the 2305?

After seeing the new 1000 Series I am very anxious to see what they do with the 2000 Series. I was thinking my next tractor would be a 3320 but I am willing to wait to see what happens.

Yes, about 250 to 300 lbs for the 200CX loader.

I went to the 3320 from the 2720. Big difference, larger tractor about twice the lifting capacity.
If you're happy with the lifting capacity of the 2x20 series than I woud say wait for the new line. If you need more capacity I doubt the 2x20 series will ever match the 3x20 series, it's almost twice as powerful.

I thought the limited Cat 1 had a shorter distance between lift arms.

I was hoping someone with 2210/2305 would chime in with measurements. I have not been able to locate any specifications for Limited Cat 1, and think now there may not be any. Looks to be just an informal designation without specs. Searching the web, people generally say the Deere Limited Cat 1 has standard Cat 1 spacing, while some others (Kubota was mentioned) may have decreased spacing between arms.

Here's something from an old TBN post.

Apparently the only difference is in lift height which makes sense using the I-match.

I saw that in my search, and agrees with what I thought. Because of that height limitation I would only buy Limited Cat 1 implements for a Limited Cat 1 hitch. Something to consider for someone buying a sub-CUT who is thinking he might upgrade someday to a tractor with a full Cat 1 hitch. He would then need to replace all his 3PH implements. While they would fit the larger tractor hitch, ground engaging abilities would be Limited (pun intended).

I had a 4115 that met my needs but wanted 3 range hydro etc. which is why I was looking @ the 3000 Series. I must admit a set-up like yours would be nice to have. :)

Kubota changed the geometry of their 3pt hitch to lift higher, I believe with the BX2x50 series. On the other hand it doesn't go as low as it used to either so it is better for lifting many implements higher off the ground, but not as good for setting chippers on the ground, or for running middlebusters, rototillers, etc. I can't see why they just can't add an extra set of holes like they do on the larger B's.
