I dont understand do you look 14? The clerk couldnt tell your age? My doctors office started with this crap on my last visit. (ive been there for 23 years) I just laughed and she said I had to show it. Well I dont have it its in the car, and if you dont want my business ill go elsewhere. She said it was the policy of the hospital who nows rules them. I told her I didnt. sign on with the hospital I have an appt witht e Doctor...
She said well, I recognize you so your good.
I can understand if I were a new 'customer' but the stupid hospital should allow them to make logical decisions. After all the purpose is to protect my records etc....

I'm of mixed thoughts on this. I understand what they are doing and why but don't agree it's the best way. Only a couple nights ago there was another news story (ABC?) about OTC drugs and anther on kids doing expired prescriptions. Call me cold hearted, but let them have 'em. Contrary to the reports, I'd say the number of kids doing these drugs "innocently" is very very small. Let's face it, most people don't hide if they believe what they are doing is right.
Solution seems to be in the anti terror mode, go for the easy target and not the problem profile.

Guess I'd better stop before I offend some bleeding heart.

Really its just showing your ID to purchase a product that can be abused. Been this way for several years, way before this current administration.

No different then for booze or cigs. They can ID you even if you look "over age". Dont like it, dont buy.

Lately its OTC cough meds and i guess that chemical inhalants like glues are getting caught up in laws trying to control "homebrew" narcotics. They even are controlling the amount of these items that can be purchased at one time and i understand that some places have begun putting this info in a database to prevent people from going store to store to get the amounts of medication necessary to produce meth.

Not really that big of deal in the grand scheme of things if it stops substance abuse.
