20 20 the very owner of this website violates your first amendement rights, as we are forbidden to talk about politics and some other topics too. Should we expect a tirade about that? If the biggest thing you have to complain about is showing ID for glue, your life is pretty **** good. Get over it.

Nice try, I have said it isn't just about the glue more of a general rant. As far as this site goes it is my choice to be here I have not been forced and it is the sites right to have their set of rules, which I respect. With that said what if the governemnt stepped in and and told the owners of the site there will be NO political post?????? THIS IS MY POINT !!!!! Stick your head in the sand, ignore what is going on, but don't cry the blues when it's to late :)

Think our government is too big. Think there are too many laws that "restrict" your freedoms. Complain that you can't carry your AK47 everywhere along with a RPG launcher.

Then Somalia has the answer for YOU! I'd be glad to contribute to your airfare.

Nope I just think ignorance is bliss, have a good one !!!!

Oh and maybe I give a crap, and that is why I have concerns, unlike some as I can see.

Folks I know my little rant may seem petty, it was a few other things that built up that lead me to start the thread. Most people just go through life and don't really care as long as they have a big screen and text message. One of the points I'm trying to make is that we can't just keep ignoring the small stuff because sooner or later small stuff turns into big stuff.

For those of you that think I'm un-American and want to buy me air fair, fine, sorry if I offended you, but I am glad you have the right to speak your piece. I served in the army because that is the way I was raised {and believe in}. I come from a family with many veterans WW1 korea vietnam etc... I believe that all eligible young men should serve atleast some time to protect their freedoms. I also believe it should be their freedom to do so, I would not force them. Freedom is not free!!!!

Do you really think it will STOP substance abuse?

Stop ... no. Slow down or pervent minors.. then maybe? Just like showing ID doesnt stop underage drinking, where there is a will there is a way, but it definitely makes a person work a little harder. Sometimes that extra work is what prevents a teen from getting drunk on a friday nite vs. just hanging around.

Oh Geeez, I will just say that I pretty much agree with 20 20....It is dangerous to take things for ganted , got to look around and see what is going on ...little by little big things happen and the change may shock us.

"20 20 the very owner of this website violates your first amendement rights..."

That's false. The first amendment, like every other word in the Constitution, prescribes what Congress and every other branch of the federal government, may or may not do. Not only does it not tell individuals or businesses what to do, it (supposedly) protects them to do as they wish. After all, that is the reason "men institute governments," at least semi-rational men.

20-20, you got it right. Your only error is that "before it's too late" was yesterday, or so it seems.

Uh, you're the one that claimed your "rights" were violated in some way. Just as you have a choice to come here, you also have a choice to not purchase anything from that store.

*sigh* I know that, I was using hyperbole to illustrate how absurd his claim was of having his rights violated.

I do wonder how many farmers here are one the goverment dole/farm subsidies...? Because then of course it's okay for big brother to be involved in your life right?

I'm sorry if you thought my response was directed at you in particular, it was not. It was directed at the many people who think Freedom is FREE!

If you want to experience a total loss of freedoms, then just go on a military base. These people who are defending our freedom probably have the least freedom of all. Just getting on certain bases can be a chore. The MP's can stop your car at any time and search it without a warrant. You can't bring gun on base unless you live there and then it has to be registered with the base. Get caught with drugs and you probably will wish you had chosen a different career. When you get called for your random pee in the bottle drug test (while someone stands there and watches you) you don't have the freedom to say "I don't want to".

When Uncle Sam sez it's time to go, you go without any choices of where or how dangerous. How do I know this, well it's because my wife retired as a Navy CAPT after 26 years of service. As a Navy "wife" I experienced all these things and never thought my freedoms were lessened.

I have little sympathy for people who think freedom is free.

I'm not from a military background. I came of age in the post Vietnam era. ( HS grad 1977) Yet the same reasons which kept me out of the service then, are the reasons I regret that decision now.
Every war leaves scars, but the Vietnam wound has never completely healed. I believe that is why we can't do what needs to be done in our current conflicts.
If I'm not mistaken, the rights you chose to defend were temporarily surrendered when you enlisted (?)
That's the irony that most of us will never comprehend. I respect & thank you for your service.
