JIC vs. SAE substitution

SAE Straight Thread (O-Ring Boss) female swivels are not just rare. I don't think they exist at all. I sell fittings for a living, and I have never seen an SAE female swivel. All SAE/ORB female fittings are solid.

A female swivel fitting needs some kind of an internal seal, and SAE/ORB fittings don't have one. The seal on ORB is external, with no way to prevent a swivel nut from leaking at the point of the swivel.

My sentiments exactly....I also sell this stuff everyday and have never seen or needed one of these.....3 other ways of hookup I've suggested.....

Fedex is supposed to deliver the JIC-SAE straight swivels tomorrow. If I can't make this work, I like my crow medium rare with salt and pepper and a tad of Louisiana Hot Sauce. :laughing:

Now I'm really confused, :confused3: I never said anything about the swivels. I hope that they come in and all your problems are solved. Are you maybe thinking about wdchyd and Hydraulic Hose Guy? The only thing that would have been better would have been if you had purchased your hydraulic side link from me.

You can't get in trouble on here, we have too much fun. MVR was right, I should have said Hydraulic Hose Guy. Don't give up on me yet, MVR. Before this is over I might buy one yet, LOL!

You ordered a fitting with an SAE/ORB Female Swivel? Where did you find this?

I missed the diagram you showed earlier. I think I understand what you're doing now. The BSPP to SAE elbow is really the problem. I would have ditched that, and gone with an BSPP x Female JIC Swivel 90ｰ instead. Then, all you need is a JIC x ORB adapter, and you're done.
