I pretty much agree with easygo's advise to you. We opted for the 2920, knowing nothing and figuring we were less likely to regret spending a little more than regretting not having enough hp. A few times when brush hogging I was using all it had and still having to stop and let it catch up, but that was in weeds as high as the hood or close to it. In doing any ground engagement work, it runs out of traction before hp.

True of most cuts. I wouldn't worry a bit about which particular unit to buy within a Kubota series. Money for implements and other accessories is much more important.

Thanks for the info. From what I've seen it seems to be about right for the area. Now my next dilemma... dealer offered the b2920 for $700. more
(23,000 before tax and ins.). Anybody think it's worth another $700 to move up to the 2920? From what I've seen I'd only be picking up 3 more horses and I don't plan on doing much if any rear pto work. Mostly moving dirt and rock and grading with a box blade.

I have the B2920 and do not believe it's worth $700 extra versus the 2620. As best I can tell, they are identical except for the HP, and I'm pretty sure you won't know the difference. As an aside, I'm surprised the difference is that much....I probably should have went with the 2620.

At the introduction of the B2x20 series, there was no B3200 or B3300. The B2920 does not move you up in implement sizes and only puts about 2HP more at the PTO. It would seem that if you are looking at the 2920 now, you'd be better served by the 3200, 3300, or possibly the 3030. Frankly there are too many offerings in the B series that are too close together. This makes buying more difficult than it needs to be IMO.

These things will almost always loose traction before the motor power affects performance. You got a good deal on the price.

^^^ I agree. I feel the 2620 is the sweet spot in the 20 series. If you aren't running a PTO HP robbing attachment, such as a chipper or snowblower .......... the 2920 is really overkill.

Thanks to all for the advice. I went with the b2620 w/loader and backhoe. It should be delivered on tuesday. I'll probably buy a box scraper with the $$ saved not going with the 2920. Thanks again...
